imo, wlad fought rahman to stay busy and delay his madatory which allowed him to pick his next opponent. had he fought a guy like chambers, a better opponent but lower rated by the IBF, he would have lost his ability to make an optional and instead been forced in the povetkin fight next (from my understanding).

povetkin is to blame for tripping over a tree root. wlad was ready to fight and dismantle him.
