Why did they never fight? We could have had an Undisputed HW Champion. I think Wlad would have KOed Wilder.
When did 'x' face Wlad? Joshua - 19th fight Jennings - 20th fight Pulev - 21st fight Fury - 25th fight Povetkin - 27th fight Haye - 27th fight Wilder 'not ready' after 33. Says it all.....
Wilder got schooled in sparring IMO Wlad just jabs Wilder to death and finishes him off with the right hand
Shelly Finkel said Wilder was still green and needed experience. Everyone involved knew Wlad would've knocked him out.
I think we can now all agree that would have been an easy win for Wilder. Wilder has the height, reach and stamina advantage on Voidimir. Plus he moves well and is awkward enough to make Voidimir sh1t himself. If you want to sh1t on Wilder for not fighting Voidimir, you also have to sh1t on Voidimir for not fighting Lennox Lewis. Void turned pro in 96 and had 41 fights when Lennox retired in 2003. Void had been the WBO champ since 2000 and defended his belt like 5 times without ever mentioning Lennox's name, let alone fighting any other live opponents. Before sh1tting on the best HW on the planet right now, remember that the only difference between him and Void is that Wilder hasn't been KO'd by a journeyman and a semi-pro golfer like Void was at the same stage of his career. At least Voidtali had balls. Even if he did take the OG-est TKO6 ever handed down, at least he was willing to square off with the best.
Can't say for sure. Must be the same reason Voidimir ducked Lennox. Hasim Rahman had less fights and more losses than Voidimir at the time when he fought and beat Lennox. It's a shame in the end Void took the bigger money to fight an easier opponent in Wembley Stadium than give Wilder the chance to KO him. Now we'll never really know.
Joshua fought Wlad 3 1/2 years after his debut. 3 1/2 years after Wilder's debut.... Vitali had just fought Chisora Haye was about to fight Chisora Wlad was fighting 3 times a year He didn't attempt to fight any, and that's why he will never be a ATG.
Bronze is actualy great for Wilder. He started with boxing too late and had barely any experience in amateurs unlike Clinschko ? :O
You do know everyone outside of the UK agrees AJ was gifted that medal. The consensus is he lost to Savon and Cammarelle.
