Wladimir Klitschko vs Ike Ibeubuchi 1999

Ike got outboxed by Byrd until he landed that punch, some may call it lucky.

 

Wlad back then had an uppercut. And a nasty one.

 

In the 90's you'd have to hand it to Ike, but now it would be very, very interesting (obviously meaning Wlad now vs. prime time-traveling Ike).

 

And Klitschko would of been the best boxer Ike would of fought! What could of been...!

 

Lewis: he had more skill, more power, more speed, more experience, more variety and and 8" reach advantage. I suspect Lewis would go out there and try to get Ike out early, leading to a stoppage between rounds 3-5 after Ike takes too much punishment.

 

I lean toward Lennox. Lewis who stopped Briggs and dominated Holyfield is still too much for Ike at this point in time. Ike may get lucky like similar sized and not as good Rahman but I dont see it

I know some are going to say he didnt dominate Holy in the second fight but I had Lewis clearly in that fight, Evander did better but no where near enough to win.

 

I would pick Wladimir Klitschko to win this one, probably by decision, but I wouldn't be reaching for my wallet to place any bets on it.

 

Since he proved it at the world class and ATG level. Live with it.

Yes, but look at his career.

 

Neither was a one punch knockout, one was a ref stoppage and Lewis was on his feet. The Rahman stoppage was multiple punches as well. And the McCall stoppage was arguably premature.

Other heavyweights who were TKOd/KOd twice in title fights:

Vitali Klitschko

 

McCall was a TKO caused by one punch. Rahman was one punch. It was also a legit KO, no stoppage...he wasn't getting up.

Doesn't matter though, Lewis got him in the rematch. Ali and Marciano are the only great heavyweight Champions that were never stopped...that I can think of.
