Isn't there a skill level to be taken into consideration here? Wlad's assets are his size and a big right hand. He is menacing physically but is quite sluggish, doesn't like being on the back foot, at all, and can't in-fight (which generally works in his favour because most of his opposition can't either).
Wlad is not that hard to work out and it's not as if Louis was only fighting guys his own size, during his day. I think it's a bit short-sighted to think Louis couldn't compete with bigger heavies, especially being as limited in skill as they are today.

 

People saying Louis couldn't handle a big HW are full of **** and clearly have not done their homework, Buddy Baer was 6,6-6,7 250lbs Louis destroyed him twice flooring him 4 times in their first fight and flooring him 3 times in their 2nd fight which he won by 1st round KO. Louis beat 6,4 255lbs Abe Simon twice flooring him multiple times both TKO victories, Louis destroyed 6,6 260lbs Primo Carnera flooring him 3 times before stopping him in the 6th. Buddy Baer and Primo Carnera were bigger or atleast equal size to Wlad so the size thing goes straight out the window, Wlad is however more skilled than either of the above.

 

Obviously Wlad, but the popular consensus will be Louis 'cos he's from the old dayz'.

 

Primo Carnera also had gigantism which doesn't really count, especially gigantism sufferers don't live long.

 

Carnera fought like Wlad using his height and fighting behind a jab ,only he had a much better chin, he even pulled back his head the same way to avoid shots.
Louis made **** of him.

Do you have a commitment problem? In this thread alone you've rage-quit this forum, came back to rage-quit the thread, and now you're still here talking to yourself (three posts in a row yesterday before I rudely interrupted your conversation with... you) and reminiscing about the old days before your mother was even born. I would favor Lewis, he is more multifaceted than Wlad, wouldn't bet a lot of money on it though.

 

Wlad has more power, Lewis has better accuracy/throws better combinations
Wlad has the better jab
Lewis is more skilled overal, Wlad is better on the outside.
Lewis has the better chin indeed
Rest is also true.

Lewis would be favoured, Wlad has a pretty big punchers chance.

(If Lewis started as slow as he did against Vitali he would be ****ed, though that was an old Lewis.)

 

Thankyou whoever it was bringing up Buddy Baer, Baer was 6'6 and had a great chin and Louis demolished him especially the second time, People act like Louis couldnt deal with much bigger guys but he did it a lot, if he could get Buddy Baer's chin out theres no doubt Wlad will fall with that glass he stores there instead of a chin

 

And people act like Wlad can't handle fast power punching guys or take a single shot without instantly getting knocked out.

Lots of nonsense spewed about both guys. That's threads like these always descend into slanging matches.
