Wlad systematically beats Holmes down and knocks him out in the later rounds. He won't let Holmes off the the hook like Snipes and Shavers did.
I think this fight would be more competitive than other of the 'classic' matchups with Wlad. Wlad would destroy the likes of Louis, Liston, Frazier, Marciano in simple mismatches. Holmes however is way more modern than these classic era clubbers, has excellent technique, stamina and can punch too if he has to. I think I'd favor Wlad here 70:30 but Holmes is a very formidable foe for Wlad.
Understand styles. Shavers was pressing the attack on Larry. He was constantly coming forward swinging shots. How does Shavers pressure relate to Wlads non pressure and pot shotting , 1-2 attack? Wlad would never get off on the lighting fast Larry of 1980 and would exhaust himself trying to.
Wlad fights nothing like Shavers. Wlad could barely land a glove on a lesser moving target than Holmes in David Haye,
Rahman, Spinks , Macall and Douglas beat Lewis, Holmes , Lewis and Tyson. Who did Wlad ever beat? Macall and Douglas would knock Wlad clean out and i would rule out Spinks giving all sorts of problems either.
Interview with Purrity. Because he had big bro do the job , just he it was done against Sanders. Wlad is a bum.
Yes, Shavers was constantly coming forward, but that doesn't mean that a boxer of his qualities is supposed to have success against Larry, assuming Holmes has those abilities you are claiming him to have. Larry wasn't "lighting fast" as you are claiming him to be. If you are referring to the Ali fight by saying "Larry of 1980", it would be foolish to pretend that he would be able to land those shots on Wladimir, plus his jab isn't nearly as heavy, nor even accurate and precise as that of Klitschko. Yes, Larry was quick, but did he have that sense of distance and skillset to get inside and hit Wladimir without needing to try to walk through the punch or being tied up? No, simply because nobody is that quick. Wladimir wouldn't pressure, that's for sure. But he wouldn't be the one with a need to pressure as well. Larry is a modern boxer in many aspects of his game, but against Klitschko at his absolute best, he's not coming close to winning.
Shavers didn't have success. Holmes cleaned him out twice. Shavers for all his pressure and power couldn't keep him down or out. Yes , he was lighting quick and had a blazing right hand. And not just in handspeed , but of foot as well. Holmes caould circle in and out and all around Wlad for 15 whole rounds. Wlad has to rest on guys backs every 5 seconds to prevent himself gassing out. Wlad quit against TOS . A very, very poor mans Larry Holmes. There is no factual case whatsoever for him beating Larry.
I think that we have both come to a conclusion that it's not just Holmes that effortlessly beats Klitschko, but also that John Sullivan would have easily defeated him as well.
funny thing is, Sullivan would kill old corrie sanders, that guy that instantly knocked out+scared wlad shitless.
I'm sorry did you wake up and forget that you lost an account bet to me and that you are cowardly posting under an alt? I own you. You are property. I wouldn't converse boxing with you anymore than I would converse with a lamp on my desk.
So when Wlad beats Pulev, will you honor our bet and leave for good? Or will you tuck your balls and stick around like Cisco Route/Nay Sayer?
