It's much harder to win a belt when you have to face the likes of Mike Tyson & Lennox Lewis, as opposed to old James Toney and Oleg Maskaev. I don't think extremely highly of Ruddock, but I'd pick him over quite a few heavyweights that held titles at some point (Seldon, Maskaev, Bruno, Peter, to name a few).

Ruddock would of course be a live underdog with his physical tools and "The Smash", but he's too dumb and one-dimensional for me to pick him over Wlad.

Ruddock is said to have boxed well early in his career, I didn't see the Mike Weaver fight, so I'm going with the Ruddock I watched in the late 80s/early 90s. Wlad's jab is 10000x better than Razor's. I can't stand Ferdie Pacheco, but he made a good quote during the Greg Page fight when someone talked about "an old dog learning new tricks". He said "he can learn to jab, right?" Ruddock just tried to bomb guys out with uppercuts and hooks. He didn't set them up properly.

It's a shame, Ruddock had physical gifts and a left hook from hell, he just lacked so much patience and intelligence in there.

Tyson spent a few years in prison and that should've opened up an opportunity for Razor if anything.

The rest I agree with, Razor had a big punch but never set them up properly.

Ruddock shatters that glass inside of 3 rounds.

VITLAY would win the rematch on WALDO's behalf though.

All Wlad had to do was not fight Chisora and then schedule a Adamek. If he only fought Haye like a man, instead of clearly running away by fighting Chisora, Wlad would have a leg to stand on. He chose his fate. He chose Chisora.

If only Klitschko fans realized this they would deride their hero' decision to fight a tomato can and retain some credibility.

If only Wlad had a heart, Ruskull wouldn't have to dedicate his life to defending his cowardly hero.

You would think Klitschko fans would be enraged at Wlads decision to fight Chisora and demand he fight Haye to prove he is as great as they say.

Instead they support this cowardly action and can only battle a losing fight in words what their hero should be doin in the ring.

Ruddock got bounced hard, and the stoppage came after countless unanswered shots with his head getting knocked around like a rag doll.

-Kid...I was a huge Tyson fan, followed his entire career, and watched both these fights live. Everyone was disappointed from the controversial ending to the lethargic foul fest that failed to yield a knockout. Mike was expected to blow Ruddock out..not grind it out and struggle.

I love on all these Wlad vs whoever threads a lot of predictions are "Wlad TKO6 or Wlad early TKO".

Who has Wlad ever taken out early for ****s sake? He's cautious as hell against feather-fisted midgets like Eddie Chambers.

-I give him credit. Limited as he was, Ruddock was tough and had a good punch when he peaked as a contender. He just sadly dropped his jab and started banking on one wind up punch at a time. His physical strength was a huge problem for a lethargic Tyson that couldn't string finishing combinations together.

-Ruddock would probably do the same thing today he did in the 80s. Run up some KOs and get in the top 5 for a year or two before losing to the top guys. I could see him having the same success as Samuel Peter, though maybe a toss up against Oleg..I have no confidence in either man's sturdiness. He just isn't a long term success kind of guy, had health problems too.
