So first it was Jimmy Young, then Jerry Quarry, now Razor Ruddock...whats next?
    Eric Esh? Botha?..prime Audley?

As TommyGun once said "there's no way Wlad beats any HW of any era"...

I like Ruddock in this one. He´s exactly the type of fighter that causes Wlad problems.

Well, he can't take a punch, that's true. BUT... you never see him taking 1/4th of what he lands on his opponents either.

Wald won't be taking bombs for a sustained amount of time against Ruddock. Wlad barely ever gets hit because he holds, turns his back, and will run if he has to to get some space. ****, he falls down without even taking a shot sometimes. :yep

I can't see Ruddock beating any version of WK. Ruddock don't have the best defense in the world. But WK has great offense, and nothing else. If you let him wear you down with all those jabs, plus the holding, then you lose by eventual TKO or UD.

Styles make fights. This matchup favors WK to me. Ruddock's chin would let him down before he lands anything big.

Ruddock survived 19 rounds against a prime Tyson, who is a better and harder puncher than Wlad.

It's not that simple, cause styles make fights. I know a PRIME Tyson would destroy some of the guys Wald lost to. But on the same note, Wald would beat some of the guys Tyson had a hard time with.

I just think Wald would get off first against Ruddock. I'm thinking of the Pre-Sanders version, not the one who is just fighting to protect his weak chin. Today's Wald just gets by on careful matchmaking nowadays. Then, there's all that holding he does.

Pre-Sanders Wald was bombs away. He was probably on roids/PEDs back then. His brother got busted for them, so it would be no surprise. :smoke

Good post mate, however, i dont compare mikes style to wlads. I just stated that Ruddock had a strong chin, going all those rounds and taking bombs from a prime Tyson.

****, that's a good point too. If Razor's chin holds up, then I can definitely see him shakin' Wlad to his boots. I guess it depends on which version of Ruddock we're talking about too, cause he got almost decapitated by Lewis and Morrison.

The Ruddock who could take Tyson's punches for that many rounds has a great chance to leave Wald in a heap. So I see where you're coming from now.

He really couldn't take Tyson's punches. He was stopped in the first meeting, controversial or not and was dropped and shook up numerous times when hit flush. He was able to avoid being finished cleanly in both fights because he would just grab the much smaller Tyson and throw his weight on him everytime he lost his legs. He struggled to do this against Lewis and even Morrison. Ruddock was tough though, he could take a good punch, and if he could buy himself time with clinching and wrestling he would usually recover.

Didn't Ruddock say Morrison hit harder than Tyson? Tyson was just overhyped....

Peak for peak, Wlad takes Ruddock's chin home in a box.

It's possible that Ruddock could catch Wladimir, but it seems a lot more likely that Wladimir lands that right on his chin and puts him to sleep.
