A ref is there to officiate the fight and make sure the fighters fight a clean fight. Its not up to the other guy to come up with a solution to Wlads constant fouling. Wlad outside Germany will have to fight Bowe by the rules and without his fouls he couldn't beat Brewster and almost lost to Peter.
Golota went back and forth with Bowe in the first fight. The only one that mattered. Eventualy Bowe forced him to quit. Don't parrot what you heard in the past. When the two men met at their best , Brewster folded Wlad in two like an empty purse. The rematch was meaningless. Brewster came out of an injury induced retirement and had his boxing license revoked.
The refs don't have a problem with his holding/clinching (as they have only penalized him once, I believe) and I'm assuming they have more knowledge on how to officiate a professional prize fight than yourself.
Yes they did have a problem with it. He was repetadley warned against Brewster. 3 warning in the first round. He had to box and lost. He moved to Germany and paid off the refs to allow himself foul, group, mug and hug his way out of trouble. You haven't watched a lot of boxing if you think he 'fights' by the rules.
Sanity rules ! Great call DV !! Consistent hugging/holding/clinching not part of the rules... I see why he does it, he got Brewerstered into fighting that way !
If you follow boxing long enough you will eventually learn that age isn't always the the telltale sign if a fighter is past their prime or even shot. There are many examples throughout boxing history of fighters younger than Bowe being diminished. I get that you want to make your case for Wlad but don't be close minded when you have an opportunity to learn something maybe you didn't know. Many knowledgable posters on here won't give you the answers but they can show you how to get there.
Bowe wasn't a swarmer. Typically, the fighters that fade earlier on are swarmers ala Tyson. Even Joe Frazier had a longer career and he got hit more often than Bowe. Bowe was a Super Heavyweight that enjoyed a height and weight difference in almost all of his fights.
