SuzieQ49 is a racist. He tries to put all white fighters over black ones. Good thing I ignore the idiot already.
That was 8 years ago in 2005!!! Wladimir became a much better fighter after that. In 2010, when Wlad was in his prime, he dominated Sam Peter in the rematch. Won every round, knocked him flat out cold.
How could I have forgot ??? he did beat another ATG heavy in Peter !! You are good !! And I guess your telling us that Vlad`s chin and `heart` impoved over the years as the opponents got easier ??
****, I`d love to see how Vlad would have the balls to hang with the Holy that Bowe fought first time out ! ****, he was wetting his pants with Sanders, Brewster and Peter. Imagine if he got into it with the Real Deal !!
Wlad wanted a rematch right away. He didnt have a rematch clause in the contract so he couldn't get Sanders for a rematch. Sanders dropped his WBO belt because Lewis retired. He wanted to fight for a more prestigious belt at that time. Thats why there was no rematch
It's hilarious to watch the simps go for the tried and true "Bowe wins on the inside" take. Make no mistake, Bowe got nice angles and leverage on his inside punches. But, he routinely surrendered his advantage in length and his excellent jab to achieve this. Thus, he took inordinate damage on the inside (his already leaky defense was amplified at close quarters). I think the bottom line is that Bowe went inside so he didn't have to move his feet like would have to on the outside. He would rather punch in the trenches (and get punched) than use his length, jab and footwork. It's somewhat immaterial in this match-up as Wlad is, by all anecdotal evidence, much, much stronger than Bowe. Bowe would get clinched and rather than find a respite for his flagging endurance inside would get it tested in a whole new way.
Meaning, sanders wanted to relax and enjoy his win like most people. completely understandable. He should have just rematched him instead of having Vitali do it, period
Who did Bowe beat that was his own size? :huh This is a question a lot of the people ask of The Klitschkos. I remember Bowe beating up much smaller men in height, Weight, Reach, etc. People say that is the only reason The Klitschko's win so...........
And?? Holyfield routinley did this even to his detriment, call it laziness call it letting pride get the best of you call it whatever you want in this matchup it's Bowe very nature of trying to slug it on the inside that would give him the best shot of winning. He isn't going to win on the outside Wlad is better in this department so he NEEDS to do what he does best and go on the inside. You are obviously an avid fan of Wlad but you should be willing to admit he's not very good on the inside and he probably wouldn't react well to such a big man being so effective and so active in close.
Well, No one of tremendous quality.. But Jorge Luis Gonzalez was a man who had beaten both Lewis and Bowe in the amateurs and was looking rather menacing as a pro. He stood 6'7 " and weighed at least as much as Bowe when Riddick sparked him.. Tyrell Biggs was exactly the same size as Bowe at 6'5", 225 lbs for their meeting. Art Tucker was 6'6" and roughly 220.. Again none of these men were world class, but they certainly either matched or exceded Bowe in size.
Wlad is great on the inside. He ties guys up and they can't move. Inside game over. Thus, he controls the inside game. From what I have heard over the years, from sparring partners and opponents and trainers, Wlad is a massively strong dude. Never heard much remark on Bowe physically other than he is big and can be a bit soft. I think Wlad controls the inside game with his strength. And I think Bowe's power is quite a bit overrated. I am a fan of Waldo only so far as I admire his effectiveness. His style does not overly please me to watch. I vastly prefer Lewis in recent memory with Louis being my favorite all time. I was big fan of Bowe early on, but there was always the quality of sloth and taking the easy route with him. Futch saw this quite obviously. He flamed out quickly as a result of his fragility and lack of dedication.
What the hell are you on about? We all know Bowe is past it and brain damaged now from the punishment, we're talking prime for prime you ****ing nonce.
I disagree with the sentiment that as soon as Bowe is in close it's game over for him. Nobody is that effective. I recently watched Peter - Klitschko II and Peter despite being tied up landed quite a few good shots, mainly overhand rights which seems to be the only right that Bowe can throw. Brewster finished Wlad off while he was trying to clinch him with his superhuman strength but still got taken out. I think it's fair to say Bowe poses a bigger challenge than either. I think Bowe is overrated in some regards power included, in the Bowe - Frazier thread people where going on like he was in the Foreman mould nonetheless, I think his inside game will really trouble Wlad particularly because he has a very effective uppercut, his stamina, his pressure and habit of going guns blazing will make Wlad freak. Wlad, IMO, still hasn't demonstrated the ability to cope with that sort of heat even Wach in between being beaten half to death had Wlad holding on for dear life after a right. I think it's fair to say over the course of a 12 round fight Bowe will infact land some good shots, not just once either. Bowe has proven he can take what he can dish, Wlad has not.
No, Wlad will take shots inside. Just not enough. People have the idea that every time he is hit solid he falls apart. Sam Peter, who hits a hell of a lot harder than Bowe ever did (and was also stronger), nailed Wlad in the second fight with flush shots and Wlad held together fine. Look, two giant guys with elite skills. I'm giving you what I think to be the general outcome. But anything can happen. I rate Lennox Lewis as a top 3 heavyweight. Still, Hasim Rahman happens. Go figure.
