Some of the most bizarre sh!t I've seen in Boxing and an insight into Golota's mental state.

The illegal clinching he used to stink joints out does determine how he does H2H against Bowe as there's a good chance he'd get disqualified before he got knocked out. No ref would have tolerated his tactics if he was around during Bowe's time and he would have been forced into a fight like he was against Brewster. We all saw what happened in that fight.

Even the illegal holding wouldn't stop Bowe from breaking through and pulling him apart in the clinch. Wlad literally turned his back and ran away when Sam Peters broke free in the clinch. Its why two of the knockdown came from shots to the back of his head. You can see a very clear picture of the panic and meltdown Wlad would suffer from having Bowe letting loose inside his wheelhouse.

Peters was a monster puncher. Bowe had decent power.

I get why some might give it Bowe because guy had a lot of talent, but he was lazy, undisciplined, unwilling to correct weaknesses. Took stupid risks. Look how many times he got caught clean from Holyfield and Golota, and Hide, and the list goes on. This is a guy who hasn't had a serious bout since 1997 and he speaks like he's necked a bottle of vodka in 5 minutes flat.

Imagine Wlad sending those right hands and left hooks through his non-existent defence?? He'd probably end up on a murder charge

I don`t get it, what has Tillis got to do with Shavers? Different eras.

Lol once again idiots who DKSAB talking about Wlad like he’s been one shot KOed. Then in their same post claim Lewis had a better chin. The SAME Lewis who actually was one shot KOed. Twice.

Careers as a whole don't factor into h2h match ups as you put forward each guy at their absolute best , so where he ended up later on is a moot point to make when you're talking about a fresh Bowe from the early 90's.

I can't imagine that from Wlad cos he never beat anybody to the point of murder in a 60+ career and none of his opponents were as good as Bowe.
I can imagine Bowe sending in jabs and right hands from longer ranges than Wlads and then Wlad staggering looking for the clinch but only finding uppercuts instead.

Bowe in my opinion was the top heavyweight during the early 90s. He was on a whole another level to Wlad. He could fight on the inside, and box from range. Big daddy by early KO.

yes wlad gets smashed by higher middlers serially, so one near elite will knock his head clean off early.

Tough one to call, slight and I mean slight edge to Bowe.

If the ref enforces the rules and prevents Wlad clinching then that gives Bowe a much better shot, but it also means he'll be more willing to let his hands go, which spells bad news for Bowe's brain cell count. That type of fight might favour a younger pre-Steward Wlad actually, since he was much more willing to let his hands go back then, and ripped in some fearsome combos to opponents' grills.

Any version of Wlad was strong as an ox, though, and Bowe wasn't especially good at manhandling smaller opponents in the clinch for anyone to think that he'd easily do it to Wlad. Peter was squat and powerful, not really comparable to Bowe's body type. If he can get space to work his bodyshots and uppercuts then Wlad's in trouble, but if Wlad can keep things on the outside then that vastly favours him. Bowe was just terrible on the outside for a so-called top-flight SHW.

Tillis got up from a Shavers right hand. So did Mercado. Thought the point was quite obvious.

Bowe through his belt in the trash rather than face his toughest foe who knocked him the **** out in Seoul. Wlad took on a PED pumped belt holder 13 years his junior after a two year layoff at 41 years old. Who was tougher mentally?? Lol

Also prime Wlad lost WAY, WAY less rounds than Bowe who lost many rounds to 208lb Holyfield and also to that other small cruiser Herbie Hide. Lol
