Exactly. Put the Wlad that reigned in against ANY of Holmes opponents during his reign and Wlad would dominate that lineup even better.

Also we could probably count on two hands tops the amount of rounds Wlad lost from the Chris Byrd rematch to the Pulev fight. That’s about 9 year span.

when best win choice includes botha....

I personally wouldnt be able to summon conviction to write that sentence, I'd realise I was parodying Wlad before I finished the post. Maybe thats what you are really trying to do here, you are a undercover wlad hater.

Wlad takes Bowe apart systematically. I see Bowe quitting between round 9-11.

Prime Wlad beats everybody before his era and everyone now except maybe Fury. The fact he took some losses is irrelevant, people eventually get caught on the chin by punchers if they fight enough. Outside of a bad night/bad luck he is superior to them all. 6'5, massive power in both hands, Olympic boxing skills, fast for his size, smarter than practically everyone he ever fought. Metrosexual self-righteous liberal phoney of the highest degree, this is true. Hugging cheater later on, also. But he utterly DESTROYS any of the pet murrican champs, wipes them out while Larry Holmes sits ringside, crying about the 'great white hope' who came true.

Unfortunately a prime focussed Wlad is generally impossible to beat. It was boring as hell and killed he division, and harmed boxing generally, but his jab and grab safety style is a nightmare for any boxer in history.

It's hard to say. Wlad was a great, he had great power, footwork and technical skills, lacked an inside game though.

However he couldn't bully Bowe with his size like he did with most of his opponents. Those grabbing tactics won't work on Bowe and even if he does go for the clinch you know Bowe would use his dirty tactics of hitting while the referee breaks them apart. Also Bowe had a high workrate and always took it to his opponents and we know Wlad didn't like being pressured. Bowe also had a great chin, look at the beating he took from Golota and he still didn't get knocked out.

Those judging Bowe from the Golota fight should realise that was not a prime Bowe, he was already slurring in interviews before those fights took place.

    It's a 50-50 fight in my opinion.

Wlad would dominate him from start to finish.

    Jab, cross, hook grab, repeat.

    Superior footspeed timing and power.

I would also take Pulev over Bowe in a heartbeat.

    60-40 Wlad.
Bowe will win late on if he can brawl and make it a war, otherwise Wlad beats him imo.
Riddick liked to brawl, but had a sloppy defense at times and avoided big punchers for the most part. He might get hit with too many big punches against WK. Bowe's best wins were over Holyfield, a smaller man he outweighed and Evander dumped him heavily with a left hook in their third fight. That's one of Wlad's best punches. Wlad has a better jab and is a bigger puncher overall.
I think WK is a slight favorite, probably in a distance fight that both men hit the canvas in.

Bowe is H2H one of the most overrated HWs in history. People always like to point to the first Holyfield fight as proof that he could beat anyone on a given night, but Holyfield didn't represent every HW boxer on the planet, and while an undoubted ATG provided a certain set of problems which a man with Bowe's tools was perfectly suited to counter. When Bowe was forced to fight men closer to his own size who didn't recklessly come into his wheelhouse he struggled and, more or less, lost.

    Would he beat Wlad? No.

Bowe was an inconsistent plodder with a lazy jab and poor control of distance, who relied on size and physical toughness to grind down his opponents, and couldn't close distance on fighters if they didn't want to come at him; Wlad was a huge nimble fighter with a great jab and impeccable control of distance, with lights out power in both hands and a clinch from hell. Unless Bowe could walk through Wlad's power and rough him up enough to cause him to break down then the chances are he gets his head boxed off and likely KOed or seriously hurt.

Bowe was not a better boxer than Wlad. He never proved that in any fight. His jab was lazy, his feet were stuck in concrete, and he ate punches from all comers because his defence sucked ass.

Wlad's jab, defence and footwork were leagues superior. Only his inside skills were worse, but that's because Bowe's outside skills were non-existent.

    Byrd who beat Evander?

    Brewster who KOed Golota?
