Mental?? Is this the same Bowe that threw his belt in the trash that we’re talking about?!

Defense?? In their primes who took more punishment and lost more rounds you think?? Lol

I’ve never seen bowe panic when getting hit with the kitchen sink. I’ve seen klitsko panic many times.

Love it how all the Wlad fanboys try downplaying his fragile chin: chin is the reason Morrison remained a second tier contender all his short boxing career.

Mercer who destroyed him wasn't as talented or powerful, but went on to greater achievements because he had a chin.

Chin is the single, most important ability in pro boxing, even more so in the HW division.

Riddick Bowe was NEVER stopped in his entire career, I let you figure out how often WK was STOPPED by genuine C level fighters.......but in your K brothers fantasy novel Purrity/Brewster and a fat Golfer are all better than Bowe, the one time undefeated, undisputed heavyweight Champion of the World.

Wladimir Klitschko: one of the longest reigning HW champions ever. Ridiculous consistency and KO rate.
Riddick Bowe: one of the greatest burger eaters ever. Trashed his belt rather than face a great.

ESB: "Imma pick Mr Kitchen-in-my-bedroom Bowe for the win!"

Love it how you bring up Morrison when the discussion is regarding Klitschko who had a 10 year reign at HW with 18 title defenses. So that “Fragile” chin as you call it... didn’t mean jack **** in his prime did it?? You do know we are talking about prime Wladimir right? Lol

How did Mercer fair against Wlad again??

Andrew Golota changed Bowes ****ing speech pattern. Golota beat the **** out of him. He would have stopped him if he didn’t hit Bowe low. And Bowe did lose to a 208lb Holyfield. Heavyweights 6’5” and 246lbs aren’t supposed to legitimately lose and be outboxed by guys that small.

Wlad had no shortage of opponents who never took a backward step coming to him. He controlled them all in the same way: jab, footwork, clinch, repeat. Bowe was better than most at getting into guys' faces, but he still relied to a large degree on his opponent's willingness to come forward and engage with him. Against world class boxers he lacked the footwork or footspeed to close them down on his own merits.

His willingness to take one to land one would be very dangerous against Wlad, who had the power to seriously hurt him. It's Wlad, not Bowe, in this instance that would only need to land a few to end things. Bowe would be forced to wear Wlad down, drain him mentally with constant pressure, and get him to unravel, and that's going to see him ship a ton of punishment to do so. Maybe he turns the trick, maybe he doesn't, but it's not going to be an easy night for him whatever happens.

If you want to wind up a punchbag with PD in your forties maybe.

The most important ability at HW, and at any weight class really, is the ability to control your opponent with the tools at your disposal. That's why lesser-chinned men like Louis, Holmes, Lennox and Wlad were able to dominate for so long, while guys like Baer, McCall, Mercer et al were not.

    Who are "they" anyway?

To argue Bowe's corner for a moment, he was a more fluid fighter in the trenches, better able to throw back hard shots while under fire, and a much more brutal finisher. He also kept his composure when hurt, and tended to hang in a fight better than Wlad when the going got tough. In his youth he also had comparable handspeed, although his lack of crispness or timing meant that fighters saw his shots coming more easily.
