He won 2 out of 3 against an ATG and was undisputed champ for a bit. How was this not mixing it at the highest level ?

I'd agree he wasn't the brightest, i just think he'd make Wlad make a mess of his shorts thats all.

You do know he was coached by Eddie Futch, widely regarded as the greatest coach of all time.

Bowe-Holy I, Bowe was outboxing him from the outside for the 1st couple of rounds. Holy then changed tactics & tried to outfight him on the inside & Bowe gave him a whooping there too.

You seem to think the only way for a tall fighter to fight is like Wlad or Vitali which is ridiculous. Neither bro has any inside game at all, they can only fight at range.

I completely agree about the brothers having zero inside game. Wlad even less so than older brother.

That doesn't change the fact that Bowe allowed Holyfield into the fight and didn't possess the brains nor discipline to follow his own gameplan. That's the key point to me. It's deadly at the elite level of boxing and that's why his career went how it went.

Over large stretches of rounds, Bowe allowed Holyfield to take the fights into his own hands and make them beneficial to Holyfield's style. He was mentally too weak and dumb to even notice what the other fighter is doing strategically. Wlad - inside game or not - would make Bowe fight Wlad's fight and Bowe wouldn't even know what's happening.

People get too hung up on the entire "Oh he was out of shape" or "Oh he was not in his prime" non-sense. At the end it comes down to skill, physical parameters and mental discipline (of following a sound gameplan).

Bowe was good in the skills and physical department but what good is that if his brains aren't on the same level?

wladmir's chin is a joke it would get smashed and its the reason the old HW greats would KO him without a doubt.

Bowe gameplan was to knock his opponents out, not to jab for 11 rounds then look for the finish. He could box & he could brawl, he was confident in his power & his chin & overwhelmed almost everyone he ever fought.

I dont think your giving Holy much respect, he was a truly great fighter & at his best no-one ever imposed themselves on him the way Bowe did. Prior to thier 1st fight no-one thought Bowe could beat him on the inside but he smashed Holy up.

As for Wlad making Bowe fight his fight I cant see that happening. Bowe had the skills & range to counter Wlad from the outside, he had a much better chin & at close range he would tear Wlad to pieces.

Wlad, is effective fighting one way & one way only which protects his shaky chin. Bowe had more strings to his bow (excuse the pun), wider variety of shots & was much harder to beat.

Bowe couldn't even crack Golotas glass jaw and was badly hurt by softpunching guys like Golota and Holyfield. Wlad knocks him flat out

    Using that reasoning....

    Bowe was never knocked out.

Wlad was stopped 3 times by guys who didnt punch as well as Bowe, Wlad has been down 11 times.

    Bowe knocks Wlad flat out

Bowe was a glorified bum in his era just like Vitali is these days. He didn't get KTFO becuse he didn't fight someone like Wlad or Lewis. He beat Holyfield like Barkley beat Hearns or Norton Ali. **** happens. other than that he looked like a fool against Tubbs and went life and death twice with a joke like Golota then he ended up brain damaged after barely a handful fights against breathing opponents. how is he going to make it thru Wlads explosive power? obviously he wasn't made for that. Wlad might have killed that guy. let alone him knocking Wlad out lol. how many times did Golota get dropped or ko'd well Bowe couldn't even get rid of that guy

Do you think Bowe was at, or even near his best when he fought Golata?

"Wlad's explosive power might have killed the guy"
