Emmanuel Steward was asked to pick his top heavyweights while doing so the interviewer asked him about Marciano, he said this.

Marciano was the greatest over-achiever but he wasnt really a heavyweight, he was too small ,too clumsy, had too short a reach, had terrible balance and cut up too easily. He would be too small to compete with todays heavyweights.

 

It wasn't just Manny who said that. Every fighter and trainer around in the 50's said that as well.

Funnily enough Rock somehow managed to batter everybody in front of him without ever taking a loss.

 

Only a real simp would say that when is clear he hasn't the skills to box a clean fight.

Any other sport , behavior like that would see you handed a ban. You foul excessively like that on the Football pitch and you are on the bench.

No, what they said of Marciano was not that he was too small ,but that he was too crude, too slow, and too old to make it in the pro ranks.
The point being,[ which you seem to have missed entirely btw] ,is that this is the era of super heavyweights.

Marciano only once defended against a man over 200lbs that was the short fat ****ell, a lhvyweight who had blown up .Marciano never faced a challenger over 6ft tall. Wlads last 5 challengers weighed :

bodyfat.Leapai is 6'0" not 6'2".
-Povetkin was fat maybe with 20 % bodyfat.

-Wach is another bum without speed and good punching-power.
-Thompson is another unathletic fighter.He was 40 !!! years old against

30% bodyfat would be relatively "fat". 20%, not so much. at least fpr a HW. I have described Liston as 20% bodyfat, & certainly some ATGs, while still excellent,-Frazier, Ali, Holmes, certainly Lewis at 256-were around 20% bodyfat, & tended to be bigger at their heaviest, like Frazier.

nevertheless, Povetkin weighed in against Wlad at his lightest in a couple years, at 225.7. Here you can see him at the weigh in, whole belly exposed, & he does not look 20% bodyfat at all.

I think Marciano get's the KO here in the later rounds.

Size and weight are hopelessly overvalued today. It's not the size of the fighter it's the size of their fighting heart and ability that counts. Each of Wlads last wins were against ridiculously poor fighters. All big clumsy low skilled oafs.

The problem for Marciano is he would not be facing a," big clumsy low skilled oaf". He would be looking at a huge physically co-ordinated giant with much greater boxing skill than he possessed.One with a ridiculously long reach, better power than he carried in both hands, one who has perfected the art of nullifying his opponents offence ,one who is prepared to slowly reduce them to a state of helplessness, before lowering the boom.
A 40 years old light heavyweight dropped Marciano so hard that when he got up he went towards the ropes expecting a mandatory 8 count forgetting it had been waived for title contests.. A 37 years old man dropped him and was in front until he ran out of gas in the late rounds. Wlad demolishes Marciano and the crowd would be a shocked by how easily he did it .

Apart from the size disparity, and you only have to look at Rocky staring up at Ali,[3 inches shorter than Wlad and 30lbs lighter] in the computer fight to grasp that,Rocky is too crude and too slow to make a dent in Wlad.
As if these handicaps were not sufficient Rocky was a bleederatsch

Big b*lls can take you a long way , but they won't overcome a man superior to you in size, skill, and power.
