You write as if there is no technical way to fight a very tall fighter! Technically Rocky had the best style to do so. In a low crouch you take away the height advantage. The opponent is low and out of punching distance. The tall fighter has to lean in to try to land which.....negates the height advantage......making the tall opponent in range for the shorter fighters blows. If Wlad were a real ATG with the true attributes of an ATG I would pick him in a heartbeat. But he doesn't. He is a weak fighter inside. Hit him hard and he folds.

Technically and Marciano do not belong in the same sentence. You write as if Marciano would have a choice how to fight Wlad,[or anyone else for that matter,] he wouldn't, he has to come forward and make the fight. At range he is like a destroyer being shelled by the Bismark.

A so-so athlete but one that is 6'6" 240 lbs versus a so-so athlete or worse who is 5'11" 190 lbs, slow, short-limbed, without quickness in combat?

    Yeah, that would be competitive.

No qualifiers like the version of Klitschko is inexperienced while Marciano is on the best day of his life?

    Peak vs peak, huh ....

    Yeah, that would be competitive.

I have created a brand new punch, never heard of before folks. Remember you heard it here first. I have thought about this for a very long time, and it is with the low crouching fighter in mind that I did my thinking. I simply had to work out a way to nullify any advantage he might gain from crouching low then springing up to throw punches thus gaining more power. Anyway I now have the solution.

    The punch will be named,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    wait for it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    The Uppercut.

    Da da.

What you don't fully comprehend is when a 5'10.5" fighter crouches as low as he can, he "negates" the height advantage of the 6'6" fighter opposing him, because that fighter has to "reach down",whereas he ,being "springheeled Jack, "can effortlessly find the chin of a man 7.5"taller. Its elementary physics.

You vastly under rate Marciano. Far more difficult to hit than you imagine. Watch sharpshooters like Walcott, Charles and Moore try to land cleanly on Rocky. He was not an easy target.

Uppercuts leave you wide open for the hook. Dangerous punch for a safety first larger hwt to throw.

Wlad only ever threw one uppercut and hit his own face with it.

People need to watch Moorer's fight with White. Boxing is a game of skill and intellect. Not size. Size can be a disadvantage against the wrong opponent.

Waldo is the best or second best tall fighter in the history of the division. His footwork is best of the superheavies... numerous trainers have commented on this. Marciano never fought an elite tall, long heavy, nevermind someone so elite that he has been in control of the division for a decade. It's a bitter pill to swallow for the agendized. Sorry, at the end of the day, even supposing that these guys are equally skilled (Wlad is more skilled and talented), it's easier to overcome the "disability" of being tall and long than the "advantage" of being short and stumpy.

Frankenwaldo is no elite fighter. Can't take a punch no mid term or inside game and was beaten in ridiculous fashion by Ross Purity the bum of all bums. He is a poor fighter in a world of horrifically poor fighters. Footwork??? Lol.

You made a blunder there. Its very serviceable but its nowhere close to Big Daddys foot work:nono

He was lighter on his feet than Bowe's and better at controlling the distance. Bowe moved well but often preferred hunkering in the trenches.

Wlad NEEDS his footwork to be successful. Without it he is vulnerable.

Bowe could get away without it for long stretches... but part of that is written in his lack of longevity.
