Could be right about the added weight but I did specifically say functional weight. Tua couldn’t do what Marciano was able to do because he was fat. Although he def had taken some notes. I’m not inventing anything. If two people are to fight on equal fields they would train for the times. I don’t think Ali as good as he was would come in at 215 do u? Or Louis at 195. It’s common sense that men of similar height and reach today weigh considerably more due to weight lifting and steroids allowing for more functional weight. You lost the argument years ago.

"His back was in constant miserable shape" - like you've been there and seen it? So at the same time his back was bad, but flexible? Marciano could have gained not even 20 lbs to be a heavyweight now, but less without harming anything. But for a man who says that "primitive defense works against more talented" it's obvious things aren't as GazellePunch describes it with whom I agree.

Wlad, being back and forward moving boxer, one-dimensional, can easily miss Marciano which combined with his glass chin, is for sure a trouble. Could be like first round KO for Rocky - Corrie Sanders needed less than a round to make Wlad rolling like a drunkard, he was pathetic in that fight.

Right so basically you admit that 185 pound Marciano couldn't beat Wladimir then start going "Hey but if Marciano was modern trained and 215 he would!" Yeah well he never was 215 so it doesn't matter, we are talking about Marciano when he actually fought at what he actually weighed against Wladimir Klitschko when he fought. Thank you for finally admitting that Marciano wouldn't have been able to do enough to Wlad.

I haven't got any opinion on this fight really, but today I watched Orlin Norris who was 5'10 ? Give 6'4 Andrew Golota all he could handle. Norris was also unlucky not to get the nod vs 6'5 Tony Tucker.

Thinking about this it gave me some food for thought, that if Marciano had modern training and bulked up, would he be a bit more effective vs modern fighters than we think ?

If Marciano was about 215 pounds then possibly, but then from Wladimir's prime to the end of his career he was only beaten by two guys who were also super Heavyweights, Povetkin was one of the best boxers Wladimir beat and even at 225 pounds Povetkin was outmatched and got thrown around in the clinch several times, Povetkin was willing to take the beating other smaller Heavyweights were not who fought him by going forward as much as possible and it didn't work out for him at all.

The thing is though when talking about these fights we are talking about what they actually we're, which is Marciano at 5'11 185 pounds with a 67 in reach and Wladimir Klitschko who is 6'5 245 pounds and an 81 inch reach.

If I remember correctly didn't Norris hang tough with Golota but was just outsized/outgunned, quite entertaining if I remember. As for the fights with Tony Tucker, those were very boring fights with Tucker being out of shape and losing most of his mobility.

I'll give this one a "like." It seems more contemplative than the others.

20 seconds. Marciano is the biggest fraud ever. Most overrated ever. Worst ever heavyweight champion.

Same here. Poor Neil’s is trying way too hard to be an edge lord…which kinda defeats the purpose
