    'and if people honestly think Marciano beats elite Super Heavyweights I have to say you're being very nostalgic.' I have to say they are fools...

    The lone thought of Marciano vs Wlad is laughable.

    You already know my answer. We disagree on Rocky Marciano. That is it in a nutshell. And, before you ask, no, I am not going to make you a sandwich (and I make GREAT sandwiches, sandwiches to die for). :lol:

    Bye. :wave:

    Read Niels Probst's posts directed at me, and maybe you will better understand where I was coming from.

    By the way, nostalgia from a boxing fan? How bad and unusual is that? Guilty as charged! I absolutely LOVE watching the fighters from the past.

    I already know about him he's a troll pay him no attention.

    But regarding your comments regarding this fight there's nothing wrong with being nostalgic in regards to watching older fighters, but when you're matching up Heavyweights from two completely different eras then you have to think about it logically.

    In Marciano's era the size of Heavyweights were Light Heavyweights/Cruiserweights by modern standards, Marciano himself would not even be classed as a Heavyweight in this era. Marciano's attributes like his height 5'10, his reach 67 inches, his weight 185 pounds, do not logically favour him against the giant Super Heavyweights of the modern era who have 50-60 pound weight advantage and over 10+ inch reach advantage.

    Also Marciano's crouching like style at 5'10 against giant Super Heavyweights like Wladimir who had an ATG jab is not a favourable match up. If Marciano somehow got in close the much bigger Wladimir would just smother him with his extra muscle, size, etc. And let's remember Marciano got decked by Light Heavyweights like Moore, Walcott, how in the world is Marciano at 185 pounds going to take flush punches of a noted elite puncher like Wladimir who weighs 240+ pounds ? it's just not logical to think Marciano could take flush punches off a very big punching elite Super Heavyweight like Wladimir.

    Marciano would be better suited taking on fighters like Bivol, Beterbiev, who are of similar size. Marciano could not compete with elite Super Heavyweights different era's Heavyweights are far too big now.

    @Shay Sonya

    One last comment i rate Marciano highly H2H between 170-200 pounds, but i do not rate him highly H2H in regards to bigger Heavyweights over 220+ pounds.

    I just don't think it's fair when people match up Marciano against Super Heavyweights, because he would not even be classed as a Heavyweight by modern standards let alone pitting him against giant Super Heavyweights.

    Your opinion is noted. I will not infer that you are an illogical thinker because we disagree about how much Wladimir's size advantage would help him inside the ring, just as being nostalgic about the old fighters does not necessarily make me an illogical thinker.

    Me, a troll, sir? Well, we do share opinions on Marciano. :) However, we disagree on Marciano vs Bivol and Beterbiev, he was so bad, so I don't think he would stand a chance against these two men either... Stay safe.

    But Rocky had the s**t kicked out of him by JJW in the title fight in 1952..knocked down for the first time...cut and blinded for 4 rounds...behind on all cards...and then "BANG"...he comes out of nowhere ...throws the best right hand ever...and wins the title in the 13th round! In his second fight against former champ Ezzard Charles in September 1954...Marciano has his nose split open down to the cartilage...blood pouring out of his nose...and with the threat of a TKO loss...losing the title...he storms out...KO's Charles...and keeps the title! Sonny Liston QUIT on his stool for a lot less! Don't sell Marciano short. As one writer said..."Marciano can't be measured by merely what we can see!"

    You’re being a dingbat if you think Rocky Marciano was a bad boxer. I don’t know how he would do against these very large fighters but what you’re saying is factually wrong and he’d have ran over the guys his size today.

    Marciano would have done this, he would have done that - Please, if you think a man, who was decked by old, former lightheavyweights would beat out today's lightheavyweights/very, very small cruiserweights, and fought when the sport wasn't as matured as it is today, well... What can I say? So you don’t know how he would do against these very large fighters? Well, let me tell you, he would have had a 0-49 record, all fights lost by KO.

    You’re trying very hard to be disrespectful towards a great athlete and it’s a waste of life.
