as for current, I suppose my stats are better termed "recent" rather than current. but really, only his last opponent and mormeck can be torn apart in terms of merit

i don't think his next opponent is confirmed but hopefully it's someone who can give him a challenge

 

Rocky struggling to dismantle an oft-KO'd (by middleweights) butterball who wouldn't crack the top-100 in modern rankings was at some point "current"... How did that effect his development?

Again, Wlad has been the best heavyweight in the world longer than Marciano had a career in the sport. He would completely outclass the swarthy son of the Abruzzi in the ring, and at this point, he is simply the greater fighter with the greater legacy.

 

That legacy is quickly going down the shitter, not that it was of any woth to begin with.

Having no A -level , HOF, ATG fighters on his record and being embarrassingly beaten by a journeyman will stand out above all else.

Rocky- Authentic Top 10 ATG HW ... Wlad top 10? Not a chance.

And please name the "quality" opponents that Wlad has overcome? Because I'd rank Walcott and Charles, yes even those versions, over every opponent Wlad has ever beat in terms of quality. Sam "Who Nex" Peter? That Brewster? That Rahman? Haye? Mormeck? Give me a ****ing break.

I struggle to see Wlad overcoming someone who has the heart and the balls to win.

 

I would rank the depleted versions of the 195 pound Walcott, who fought the last two fights of a long, long career against Marciano, and 185 pound Charles, who was basically going from shot to a wheelchair, little chance to be ranked in the top 30 heavies at any time during Wlad's reign. These were old, old men who had city miles on their odometers, 70 and 95 fights respectively fought in the hard conditions of their times.

Peter, Brewster, Brock, Ibragimov... all handle those two with ease.

Marciano is the King of Providence, Rhode Island Cruiserweights and the King of Advantageous Timing. He snuck into his little window of fame, one which would not have been rewarded him either before or afterward.
