H2H Wlad doesn't do so well, but his brother can hold his own. When you step up to ATG boxers, then you need a little more than just skills, you need a big heart and a great chin. All the ATG boxers had great chins and heart to weather the storm. Wlad hasn't been able to do that. His brother Vitali has that, as shown against Lewis. Wlad would have been destroyed in 3 rounds had he been in the same fight.

 

I'm not saying he would be terrible against them, it's just you have to factor if its a 15 round fight and all the conditions of refereeing etc. Let's face it, he does get away with some questionable behaviour in the ring like excessive holding, pushing down on opponents etc. Against ATG opposition, he would be faced with a lot more dangers than what hes facing with today's Heavies. How many are actually any good? Take a prime Holyfield, he might be small but he was technically very good and had a great beard. Could Wlad last a whole fight against him? Not so sure his chin or heart would last against a relentless Evander. Wlad is comfortably more better than the rest at the moment, but against ATG opp, he wouldn't be and the panic would set in. Wlad is a boxer and not a fighter and sometimes you need to be able to fight to get you through it.

Puritty is 6'3" and he destroyed wladimir.
Ali is 6'3" and he was a "little bit" better than Puritty.

 

Sanders was 37 years old fragile,fat unathletic bum against wladimir and he destroyed w. klitschko easily. Maybe Sanders' bodyfat percentage was 30.
Plus Sanders was a glass-chinned "fighter".
A sanders quality bum couldn't beat a healthy Ali.

However Wlad is a hard match up for him, much harder than say his bro would be. With Ali's lack of head movement and pulling back from punches he'd get caught with that right cross enough to trouble him some... but Ali had the chin! and the ring IQ to get through and dominate the later rounds. I'd see Ali wining 8 of 4 or 7 of 5

Now the Ali who fought Frazier in 71 would be a real hard fight to call... I'd still favour Ali. The 74 Ali that fought Foreman would be 50/50. After that I'd favor Wlad.

Wladimir destroys that guy. I just rewatched all the fights of the "old times". Anyone who thinks Ali, Dempsey or Liston win against a Wlad from today are delusional. Boxing today is on a different level.
