Tucker was a decent fighter who probably had unrealized potential. But he gets too many props in head to head fantasy fights. I can see him lasting the distance against both the Klitschko’s, but I can’t envision him doing enough to earn the points needed to win.
Theres almost no one like this in the history of boxing. Who can match Wladimir in height, reach, power, speed, footwork and weight ? Basically no one. Lennox Lewis is the closest.
@Joeywill Point taken but for me Douglas kind of just gave up in that fight, and in all honesty that fight does show Tucker could be out boxed for long periods. To me Tucker just never really had a 2nd gear to really turn it up against elite opposition, he kinda of slept walk vs Norris, McCall, etc. He never really separated himself when he stepped up against better opposition. I just don't think Tucker has what it takes to beat Wladimir.
Wlad is just better at every facet and more talented. He dumps Tucker on his seat at least two times and wins almost every round. Tucker doesn't have a rally in him down the stretch and Wlad is comfortable to win a decision.
If you look down Wlads entire record the closest guy to Tucker was Williamson. They fought on even terms , neither guy proving to be better than the other. The IBF were irked that Wlad didn't want to run it back so put Williamson forward for the title shot against Byrd. That fight and the aftermatch tells you all you need to know about Wlads struggles with big men who can box and move. Tucker was bigger and better than Williamson. He held advantages over Klitschko in backfoot boxing ability. Nullifying Tysons attack with footwork , angles and without needing to hold is a facet to Tuckers game that was better than Wlads. Wlad fought in an era of plodders and men who were half his size. . The struggles against Williamson were kept hidden until Tyson Fury came along and deconstructed him with movement on the backfoot.
