FFS, haven't been back to this board for years, and only because the 'other' site was down tonight. People complaining that the fight was 'boring' despite it being a great tactical match of the flagship division in which the underdog completely schooled the established and undisputed champion? Idiots.

No spin at all. I thought it was fascinating, if only because either fighter was one haymaker away from defining boxing history. That's what the HW division is all about for the most part. . .

The welterweight has carried boxing for the last 20 years.

In the heavyweight undisputed match you had one guy trying to grab all night and another guy throwing just enough jabs to win the rnds. 12 rnds of this and you call that a tactical fight? And called that a schooling?

You're views are hopeless if you think this was a tactical fight and you think the heavy weight division is the flagship of boxing.

Well, they aren't carrying it anymore.

    Great win for Tyson Fury.
    :happy

In the U.S. this morning, the fight isn't being discussed so much as Fury's singing afterward and his great personality.

It's the first time I've heard them discuss heavyweight boxing in years.

Tyson Fury is going to be a huge star. And he's only 27 YEARS OLD!!!! He's going to be around for another 10 or 15 years!!

I expect to see Fury win and lose the title several times over the next decade. But he'll always be interesting.

We all owe him a debt of gratitude.

With Fury, Wilder, Parker, Joshua, etc., the division is ripe for some action fights.

Wlad was a dominant champ, but I enjoyed watching him lose like I enjoyed watching John Ruiz finally get stopped by David Haye. I know he has a rematch clause. Hopefully, Fury will stop him and end the Klitschko era for good.

The Klitschkos profited greatly from boxing, but they sucked the life out of it. The fight Saturday was boring because ALL Wlad Klitschko fights are boring.

Bring on the new wave of heavyweights.

    Can't wait.

And reading this thread this morning has been hilarious. One of the best RBR threads ever ... in terms of people predicting an early KO by Wlad, those who thought it was great, those who thought it was terrible, those overjoyed, those angry, and the comments on Tyson singing at the end.

Save this thread. Great job to all who contributed.

    It's a part of history.:good

A rematch would be beneficial to Wlad from a legacy perspective. He has been criticized for letting his brother take care of his losses and rematching Fury wouldn't be the case.

If he were to regain the title, at his age, from the guy who beat him would be seen as a major positive.

Another loss, this one at 40, would just further highlight that age had finally caught up with him.

I have no interest in a rematch with the fight being so poor to watch but a rematch would have to be better though.

If Wlad had dominated, or looked good at all, and Fury caught him with a punch (like Rahman did to Lewis) to take the title, I'd give Wlad a good shot at regaining the title.

But Fury won over 12 rounds in pretty convincing fashion. You could argue it was one of Fury's easier fights. And he basically outboxed Klitschko with one hand -- the left. And Fury wasn't even gassed at the end. He was singing in the ring. Wlad threw very few punches and looked totally spent by the end.

People made fun of Fury for years for punching himself and struggling with guys like McDermott. But he's improved as a fighter by leaps over the years. This win should only make him even better.

Wlad was so dominated and looked so confused during the whole fight that he would have to do a major overhaul in his style to even be competitive. And I don't think he's suddenly going to learn how to fight on the inside. And he doesn't seem to have the gas tank to fight at a whirlwind pace.

I think he'll take the rematch because he signed a big TV deal, and he'll get paid handsomely for it, but I think Wlad loses even worse in the rematch. If Fury starts throwing those left hooks earlier, he could chop Wlad down and stop him. Fury froze Wlad with the few he did land.

He's about at the end of his rope. He shouldn't fight again as it is.

If Wlad looks the same in the rematch, and he fights three more times (into his 40s) after that to fulfill his TV deal, I wouldn't be shocked if he lost them all.

If he keeps going, it's only going to get worse. Not better.
