Vitali is too much for Wlad. Wlad can beat him to the punch and maybe outbox him but at some point I imagine Vitali going gung ho and making Wlad work at a pace he isn't capable of doing.

    Vitali late stoppage.

Wlad achieved more and beat better fighters, but Vitali would win on a late TKO IMO.

    Wlad.

    Vitali is massively overrated, IMO.

Vitali had a better chin and a bigger heart, that's it.

Skills and Power? Wlad by a country mile. A country mile.

Who is Vitali's most meaningful win in his prime?

He never cleared up and he ducked fighters (say what you will, but he avoided Haye. He told Haye to beat Chisora - who went the full twelve with Vitali - and Haye sparked him out cold, yet Vitali came with the excuses after), held the belt hostage and wouldn't let his brother unify when his brother was THE MAN.

Vitali, in some peoples minds, is a killer amongst killers. Not to me.

I still remember a man who quit because of a shoulder problem, held a title hostage and never cleared up at HW. And he was there long enough to! I mean, his brother did, so why didn't Vitali?

Massive kudos to him for still wanting to fight Lennox and protesting that the fight shouldn't be stopped, but that was an ancient Lewis who was training for someone else completely and who was past his prime. And he still ripped Vitali's face to pieces.

Wlad, with the right mindset, could beat Vitali with ease.

That's quite a lot. He was also meaner and tougher mentally.

As fans of both of them, Vitali would have won.

Wlad just does not have the chin to weather his punches, and he was somewhat uncomfortable with fighters who liked to engage him.

Wlad's size and skills could keep most of the smaller aggressive types at bay, but here he doesn't have a size advantage at all.

I'd pick Vitali via TKO somewhere between rounds 5 - 8

Here's the thing. If Wlad won, he would win by KO, and early. I believe he has the skill and power to blast any heavyweight in history to the canvas, including Vitali. If Wlad won the win would be shocking and decisive.

But I believe the more likely scenario is that he doesn't throw caution to the wind and tries to take on Vitali the conventional way. And in this scenario Vitali's chin and stamina are king. Constitutionally Vitali can take far more punishment than Wladimir, and I think the likely end would be Vitali grinding him out for a late KO.

Pity we'd never know for sure.

We're not talking about resumes though. We are talking H2H, both at their best. They were very familiar with each other. Vitali was just a little bigger and much more durable. Power? They both punched hard but Vitali's chin would make it seem like he would have the edge in power "by a country mile"! The ability to give and take is being overlooked by some people. Very few could give and take like Vitali.

Wlad would get Vitali out of there.

    Left Hook? Atomic.
    Straight Right? Deadly.
    Jab? Brutal.

Wlad has the edge in all areas AND he has more power.

No way is Vitali taking those punches and staying up. No HW alive could.

Wlad has the better resumé and is in terms of skills and tactics a better boxer than Vitali. But styles makes fights, and I think Vitali would be wrong for Wlad. His toughness, warrior mentality and iron chin plays to Wlads weak sides (chin and getting pressured).

But I guess it depends on wheter Vitali is able to take away the jab from Wlad.

In any case, it would definitely had been a brutal fight. From what they have said, their sparring sessions when they were younger were extremely hard with them injuring each other.
