Because the topic is about clinching, which Tyson needed to do in almost all of his fights against taller men. Because backing up is not an option when he ran out of room.

Well what do you think happened after the clinch, Dino. What secret am I hiding? Maybe they are still clinching to this day....

If Tyson isn't allowed to clinch, I'm not sure what he could do. Ask for a time out, I suppose and hope Tucker gives him one. Otherwise, you got two guys standing there in each other's chest, scared to move, because first that backs up is getting their head knocked off. Maybe they push each other which is also illegal...so no clinching, no pushing..this is going to be a weird fight.

Clinches at 0:59 and at 1:13 and 1:25, 1:31. No shame in it, he just ran out of room. It happens. The previous exchange he didn't clinch, Williams grabbed the back of his head and teed off before pushing him away.

Great clip to reinforce my point on how Tyson needed to clinch. He clinches a lot here before tagging Williams with the knockout punch.

Is he supposed to punch for every second of every minute of every round? Moment later Williams was splattered.
Lewis held. Does Lewis need to clinch as well and does that mean Wlad would also beat Lewis.
Evrybody holds. Nobody made it their primary method of offence like Wlad did.
You havn't a clue whats going on

For my thoughts on that subject. See post #133

I would dispute it was Wlad's primary method of offense as a clinch is not offense.

And in a fight where Wlad and Tyson are not allowed to clinch or push, Tyson won't punch at 100%, he will miss with a lunge, and be off balance. If Tyson can't clinch after a miss lunge, he will end up in a bad position with no way to protect himself and reset.

And in a fight where Wlad and Tyson are not allowed to clinch or push, you have two guys with no room and no way to reset cleanly. Tyson would likely be the one to have to give ground because of the weight disadvantage and he would get caught backing up by Wlad's long arms.

The guy stiff up top with ZERO head movement and a glass chin would fall before the one of the best defensive HWs who had an iron chin

No, the smaller man who has to jump inside to punch is at the greater risk of being caught out of position.

Taking away the clinch is serious handicap to Mike Tyson and frankly, not fair.
