I agree with your list. Any chance that Eddie Chambers might have been better than one or two of those guys ? How about Ruslan Chagaev ?

I skipped over Chagaev I'd definitely have him taking Rahmans place because Rahman was pretty shot in that fight. Chambers could be better than McCline, Peter or Pulev, he's more skilled but I'd have put him around there.

Purely based on standing of opponent and disregarding Wlad's performance:

    1. Povetkin
    2. Byrd 2
    3. Haye
    4. Chagaev
    5. Peter 1
    6. Pulev
    7. Chambers
    8. Brewster
    9. Ibragimov
    10. Byrd 1

Good list. But I think Byrd 1 could be there somewhere.

I had Byrd 1 at #10, but decided to replace with Thompson 1, I could see either win being claimed as better.

Fairs. I think Byrd was in his prime 1st fight and even though more accomplished by the 2nd slightly faded in comparison.

Perhaps. Byrd was ranked #7 going into their first fight and #1 going into their second, for whatever that is worth.

I agree Byrd 1 ahead of Thompson 1 is a good shout though, I'll edit my list accordingly.

His best win was Povetkin , a fight he had no option but to debase, humiliate and disgrace himself in.

Taking this into account it's no suprise he got completely mogged by Fury in retrospect.
Therefore there's no justification to favour him over anyone better than Povetkin.

The 1st win is close. Maybe even the 2nd win being just outside the top 10 as Thompson proved he still had something left when he nailed Price twice after.
