And you're basing this on what ring performance of Marciano's where he overcame 8"in height, about 14" in reach to a stronger, faster , well conditioned and harder hitting opponent in his own physical with a tremendous left jab ? Please base this on facts. I'm curious.

 

Cockell was the number two Heavyweight in the world, and he did earn that ranking with a string of pretty good wins. He would certainly be sanctioned against Wlad if he could capture that ranking today...which is quite possible considering its a wide open division minus the top 2 guys.

Since Wlad has virtually no uppercut, I imagine that rocky would be able to avoid a lot of wlad's punches by going down low.

The fact he was ranked so highly underscores the weakness of that era for heavyweights. He was a butterball (not his fault) with decent skills and the capacity to absorb punishment. If today's era was so weak, fighters like this would be abundant in the ranking. But they are not to be found. Our fatties today are the 6-2, 240+ type. And honestly, the Klit's, Haye, Povetkin, Dimnetrenko and even Briggs show far more relevancy to something labelled the heavyweight division.

Cockell was also matched smartly against ranked technicians like Johnny Williams, Roland LaStarza, and Mathews. Two of which being still releveant but slipping Rocky left overs. I could see him rising in the rankings against Wlad left overs like Brock and Byrd. I'm not saying he was a great fighter but he would certainly be sanctioned and with the right management and match making could certianly find himself in a title fight with Wlad or Vitali. No matter how fat he was. Haye would certainly fight him.

The Cockell fight reveals Marciano out his most vulnerable legacy wise. At the point, the emperor is at least partially disrobed.

 

I totally agree, in fact Ali could win by late TKO as he'd force Wlad to box at a pace he is uncomfortable with, which would tire him out.

You clearly haven't seen the fight, this "anemia sufferer" Ribalta was shredded with muscle with not a gram of fat on him. Sakura "The brain donor" claims that Tyson "barely won", yet in fact he subjected Ribalta to a ferocious 10 round onslaught of aggression, gave him a hellacious beating, knocked him down 3 times & won by TKO with a brutal combination. Tyson is kryptonite to both Klitschko's & would beat the brothers senseless.

James Toney 5'10" 72" is out now but was top 5 for several years...he didn't have an analogous physiogamy but word on the street is he loves his steroids and cheeseburgers.

 

Next to no chance for the great Rocky Marciano here. The current version of Wladimir would keep Rocky at bay with the jab & he'd probably floor Rocky with the left hook off that jab. If that didn't work he's level Rocky with the straight right. The best Rocky could hope for is to be stopped by TKO mid to late on cuts.................
