Wladimir Klitshcko vs Rocky Marciano

Wlad's jab'll make Rocky's face look like cherry cobbler. Marciano is an elusive atg and a tremendous puncher for his size but how in the hell is he going to avoid getting hit 6 or 7 times for every 1 bodyshot...given Wlad's reach, tentative style and razor sharp jab/right hand. You can't be at such a size/reach/athleticism disadvantage, get hit repeatedly and still expect to win...I don't care who you are.

 

Lots of people writing of Marciano as if he's gonna stand in front of Klitschko and just fold? That's just pure nonsense if you ask me. Rocky brings a level of toughness and heart that the Klitschko brothers have yet to see in their careers. How about giving Rocky some credit as the only undefeated heavyweight champion. Rocky trained for 15 round fights, was tough as steel and could hit pretty hard with both hands. He's not going to be scared of either Klitschko and the big body shot targets they present. Logic says Marciano loses this fight if he can't get close and with Wlad's reach advantage, it does seem relevant. Both Klitschko's are strong, atheletic big men that have good boxing skills. Marciano would be the toughest fighter both would face in their careers though, and I don't see them surviving round after round of Marciano's hooks to the body from both hands.

I haven't seen that Baer thread I should check it out. The mods here are pretty inactive and don't do much regulating. It serves as a good thing in some instances as the forum seems to regulate it self but sometimes trolls shift toward these quarters and just intentionally try taking up space. Considering some of the posters in the general section I can't knock Hegrant too bad, but his affinity for Marciano and his targeting of any of his supporters is strange. Maybe Mr. Marciano knew Mrs. He Grant?
