- has zero inside game - fights like someone who packs ultra glass jaw - can not trhow an uppercut (even punched himself with his own uppercut) - biggest cheater in boxing , does more clinches than his clean puches landed - his arsenal of punches is just pathetic = jab - straight - never faced a solid tall guy (bums like Wach do not even count rofl) - lost against first half decent tall guy he ever faced - was clinching like a pusssy even in last round against Fury and he probably knew he needed KO but instead going for kill he decided to CLINCH XDD - is ultra boring - WORSE THAN MAYWEATHER / WARD The funny thing is that this guy is barely boxer. He cannot box. If someone like this fraud could dominate HW division for years that means it was ULTRA WEAK. Not that he was good. Grabomir can not even box. Lewis , Tyson , Vitali , Foreman and many other legends would destroy his fragile mandlibe. Can not wait till Joshua destroys the bum
Wlad has bigger power than anyone you mentioned there. Beyond that, Lewis was KO'd twice by bums and beat pillar to post by a green Vitali
I don't get it, Wlad recognises he has bad punch resistance. So he fights in a a way that ensures he's not going to get hit. hit n not get hit, spirit of boxing etc. So as a question - should he just have done a Khan and kept trying to fight in the same style over and over, getting KO'd every fight until he was irrelevant, or should have he adapted into a style that negated his flaw and allow him to stay a dominant champion for 10+ years? What one would have been the more intelligent thing to do as a fighter? Rag on him all you want, but if it was just his size winning him fights with him barely knowing how to box then I'm sure Julius Long would also be a title holder. Ykno, weak jaw, unable to box, etc.
wlad is a top 3 atg, its not he's fault he has to face the furious one, the greatest fighter in the history of mankind
His style isn't very fan-friendly, but you can't really knock a guy who had a stranglehold on the entire division for ten years. Irrespective of the level of competition (or lack thereof,) it's still an amazing achievement. He literally wiped his division clean and no one ever whispers the idea he ducked anyone during that ridiculous run. He changed his style up after getting knocked out, it happens with a decent amount of fighters. In his case, he was under Emmanuel's tutelage and became a bit more cerebral and cautious as a fighter. He learned how to clinch a LOT more effectively after that Sander's debacle and he also learned how to use his height and reach advantage to the best of his abilities. I'm iffy about this fight because of so many variables. It Wladimir didn't put up such a dismal effort against Fury, I think more people would be wondering if AJ would be ready for this match now. Wlad also being 40 raises some red flags on whether that performance with Fury was just a once in a decade type of situation or whether his age has finally caught up with him.
Bingo! Steward saved Wlad's career, just like Hearn's Manny trained those guys superbly , opponents have to fight the arms to get inside . Hearns had huge height and reach advantages over his opponents as does Klitscho. Take those away and both of those guys get knocked out,.... repeatedly
Take out a fighters power, chin, range, build, speed we can go on and with these useless ******ed hypothetical propositions. All instances the fighter wouldn't be the same.
Well the one thing you can certainly criticize him for is not letting his hands go against fury and just giving away the HW crown like it means nothing. He must have known he was down on the cards and needed a KO, at that point he should have gone after fury like he just threatened his family
yeh his record makes him look weak and he is probably the weakest h2h champ we've had. but his strengths are excellent longevity and commitment, not depth of boxing skill etc. bum isnt the right word at all but i understand you mean "relative to"
I hate backfoot runner boxers but damn hell no Wlad fought top 5 boxers alllllllll the time,he's probably top 5 ATG he never ducked anyone, fought every freaking one my goodness
