He might as well fight him at this point, since both have been stringed along (by Fury and Haye, respectively). It's an easy, early KO win in a stay busy fight for Wlad... plus the previously staged antics are still fresh in the minds of many. Make it happen, K2.
Briggs is a tough old ****, he's not being KO'd in the 1st round by anybody. Main reason why he isn't getting fights is because of the expectation that an old ex champion should get knocked the **** out, not likely with Briggs.
Never said Wladimir would win in the 1st at all. He should, however, be able to get him out by the 4th... which still fits the criteria for an "early KO" description-wise. Let's Go Champ.
