I hope IBF sorts out this situation quickly. I was hoping for Povetkin becuase Wladimir has already fought Peter and sooner or later Povetkin will show up so Wladimir will have to fight him anyway.

No one wants to get KOed so it is hard for KlitschKOs with finding opponents these days.

Am I missing something? Did Team Povetkin say that they pull out of the fight ? Why IBF strip him from his mandatory ?
He only missed the press conference . The fight will take place (from what we know until now)

Hrunov complained the contract is not signed. Mr. Hrunov schould read the rules! Povetkin lost his mandatory, here the rules:

    Failure of Challenger(s) to Comply
The Challenger in a championship title fight, and
both contestants in a fight for a vacant title or an
eliminator, must sign the contract(s) referred to in
Rule 10.F.1 above within fifteen (15) days of the bid
and must comply with all of the terms and conditions
set by the winning bidder. Failure to comply will
result in the boxer being dropped below #10 or removed
from the rankings for at least six (6) months.

Purse bid was on 29the of june.

You know, normally the challengers have to chase the champions around, offering their right nut to get a shot if necessary.

    Exactly.

Sure, Povetkin might lose to Wlad. But going in the ring and losing sure looks better than this deal here where you're scared and essentially forfeit the match 2 months before it takes place.
