Not the best in the land my friend!

Haye has not had a serious test at heavy weight and with the fat bums in the division the only people that can are the brothers and they wont fight him well i cant answer for vitali i can for wlad!

It hard to find out info i personally never use bbc i listen to all the guys in these threads and there is alot of people that really know what there talking about and listen to interviews and just facts from sky sports, eastside, boxing scene and world boxing news etc

I just pray the fight happens so we can all see how haye is at heavyweight as he has nothing to prove as a cruiser!

thats a huge generalisation dude.. Yes lots of fans all over the world get and believe all they are told.. I am a brit and get my info from various sources.. The bbc do cover boxing but very loosley.. I would be more worried about the majority of brits believing what they read in the tabloids such as the sun..

Picture this scenario.. a boxing noob stumbles across this forum and reads all the nuthugging that can be quite believable.. Is this not worse than being led by the lame bbc reporting.

I don't think Haye is ducking here. He wants the fight *NOW* .. today... after giving excuses and bullshitting for two years. Haye seemingly feels gutted that his genius plan of only "allowing" the fight right before his retirement is falling apart.

    Two simple facts:

    1. Haye is the idiot who set this idiotic and completely unnecessary retirement deadline :deal
    2. Haye is the idiot who *DID NOT WANT TO FIGHT KLITSCHKO* unless it is right before his retirement :deal

Haye and Booth seriously thought the K brothers wouldn't see through this pathetic little retirement plan of Haye's and **** on his parade -- after all that's been said and done?

    @ stocks and dendy

I agree, what I was trying to say (albeit not very successfully it seems!) is that Haye talks, acts and thinks that he's the best fighter in the division, and there are a lot of people out there that go along with it, as they read it in the Sun or the Star, or from BBCs flaky reporting on the sport :p

Anyone that follows boxing knows he still has a lot to prove at HW and that means getting in with either Klitchko!

I hope the fight happens too, and then we'll see!

Ludicrous demands, you mean the generous 50/50 he offered Haye?

I get that he doesn't trust him, I don't trust him anymore...and I don't have to have dealings with him.

Why didn't he just get the Haye fight signed for July, and IF Haye for some reason pulled out before then...throw ****ing Chisora in the ring and take the frustration out on him?

Yep. Haye makes more money and brings more to the fight, and should therefore take more money away. This is a business and with any other fight in the sport, it would work that way. We can all be sentimental about it and say that the champion deserves more money but it just doesn't work that way. As I said in another thread, if Mayweather fought Martinez at middleweight, he may have no belts and no previous fights there, but you can bet everything you own that he'd take more than 75% of the cut. That's just the way the sport works.

The fact Haye was happy to give Wlad 50/50, despite bringing more to the table, and the fact he accepted the fight in Germany are significant. Of the three choices of location, Germany made the least sense because it's not neutral, unlike America, and it brings in far less money than a fight in Britain would. Yet Haye still accepted.

That was what CHEF said was going to happen. Apparently Chisora was meant to be on the undercard and if Haye pulled out, he'd be bumped up into the main event.

Whatever happened to that? Somewhere along the line, Wlad realized he would prefer to fight Chisora first.

I get that Wlad wants to be active, and I agree with everyone when they say that Wlad just wants to get back in the ring.

But this will/would have been the biggest bout of his career, his defining bout...that scenario sounds much better than having to fight twice in 8-9 weeks.

He may not have the titles but, luckily for him, titles mean absolutely nothing any more.

Haye brings more money. Fact. You can't ever disagree with that.

It isn't even close, world wide. Haye thinks the UK PPV is all because of him, and even that is bull****. Wlad is the champ, Haye is a paper champ. Wlad brings in the money, Haye is a diva :good

    Yeah.

There's two points that I think are relevant:

    1. Chisora is not a threat so what does he gain from a bout which is supposed to get rid of ring rust? I think we all agree that Wlad could knock him out any time he wanted to, including the first round. If that happened or a fight similar to the Austin one happened, would that really help with any ring rust? Of course not. Hard training would be more appropriate and would benefit him more. There are sparring partners out there who will test Wlad much more than Chisora will.

    2. Do they risk overtraining? Wlad has always had, roughly, a 10-12 week training camp. Is it logical that he would come into this fight with either an uninterrupted 18-20 week camp for both fights or an interrupted and therefore, possibly, 6-8 week training camp? It's the biggest fight of his career, so surely he'd want his preparation absolutely spot on? If you look at his recent career, he'd be more suited to fighting Haye with no warm-up fight, than he would be to fighting twice in such a short period of time.

I think it's illogical to assume that Wlad would either have a long uninterrupted training camp for both fights without a rest or that he'd have a rest after Chisora and train for far less than he usually does. For the biggest fight of his career? A unification fight against his toughest test to date? I don't think so.
