Chagaev never lost his title in the ring, he was inactive due to injury as Champion in Recess meanwhile the WBA had only the Interim Champion Valuev, a guy who was already a victim to Chagaev just a few fights previous.

 

the incorrect part there is that Chagaev was not Valuev's mandatory, Chagaev was the actual Champion and Valuev only the Interim Champion. Chagaev and Valuev were ordered to fight by the WBA to determine the active Champion. Subsequently Chagaev was unseated as WBA Champion due to a technicality with the health rules in Holland(or was that Finland?), as he could not fight on that night and the date could not be postponed (since he had already been inactive so long) he forfeited his belt and Valuev was named Champion despite never beating Chagaev in the ring. :thumbsup

The thing people need to realise about Haye is, he loves fighting. Wladimir when he gets in the ring is the one who looks like a gun shy *****/*****/******. Haye will fight him and when he knocks him out, I want to hear what everyone has to say about it.

a few fights ago, but a long time ago especially with Chags injuries, you cant be champ if your so inactive, any other organisation would have stripped him of the title instead of naming him "champion in absence" or whatever
