As of right now, I rank Lewis ahead of Wlad for best heavyweight of the decade. But, if Wlad can unify a couple belts, maybe get the ring belt, and not lose before 2010, I'd say he would have surpassed Lewis.

    Lennox ranks higher overall, clearly.

But only in this decade, it is a close contest.

    Lennox / Wlad

    Grant / McCline
    Botha / Botha
    Tua / Byrd x2

Rahman / Ibragimov (if Wlad beats Ibragimov)

Old Tyson / Peter + Brock

    Klitschko / Brewster + Williamson + Barrett

Now why do you say that?

did his brother ever try to pick a fight with the winner and put his hands on him after losing a fight via cuts?

Did he ever get caught using steroids and was banned from the Olympics?

Did he ever try to pick a fight with a guy after beating Wlad in a professional prize fight?

Did he ever try to cut in line for a title shot with the WBC, got told "no", and then got injured?

That's it in a nutshell. Lennox has more career accomplishments & a better legacy at this point but most of his legacy occurred during the 90's not after 2000 IMO.

I voted probably but we'll see.

If Wlad can unify the top 3 or 4 belts and re-establish the lineal Heavyweight Championship he will have surpassed Lewis.

I guess I didn't realize that Lennox's three years and seven fights in this decade were so meaningful (6-1, 5 KOs), but I suppose this decade has been somewhat crappy for the heavyweight division. No one has really "taken over" except maybe Wladimir.
    Yeah, we'll see what happens.

sorry but Wlad is not a 2 time heavyweight world champion. Holding the WBO belt doesnt count for anything and the buffer intro of "The 2 time world champion" is erroneous. But i suppose we could match him for achievements with Herbie Hide who under that criteria would also be 2 time world champion, but in his case of 2 WBO reigns, was never actually world champion!

The 80's during Mike Tyson's early reign was worse.

The WBO is largely considered equal to the others at this point. They ratings are no better or worse.

Lewis is still ahead, but Wlad should be able to do more by the end of 2009.

    Lewis--

    Wins:
    Tyson
    Vitali
    Tua
    Rahman
    Botha

    Losses:
    Rahman

    Wlad--

    Wins:
    Byrd x2
    Peter
    Brewster
    Brock
    McCline
    Jefferson
    Shufford
    Nicholson
    Mercer
    Botha
    Moli

    Losses:
    Sanders
    Brewster

So even though Wlad has a lot more wins during this time, Lewis' record is better
