Now I`m really getting started. If you want to start comparing someone up against all time greats. FYI, a REAL chin is required !! Foreman and Tyson are 2 of THE biggest hitters ever. I don`t see a guy who get ponded and stopped by Brewsternand Sanders as being compareable ...
Wlad was not in his prime when he was stopped by brewster and sanders. We are talking about the post 2006 Wladimir Klitschko
i get what you're saying but with the right gameplan, wlad would neutralize tyson. if wlad does what he needs to, tyson would rarely hit him clearly. the occasional shot, wlad COULD take. it's cartoonish to think that any time tyson jabs him wlad goes down
i can't see wlad losing to someone who got destroyed by buster douglas. actually that's unfair: tyson was closer to his best in tokyo than wlad was against sanders. if "he doesn't have the chin" is all it takes to predict fights, then the argument is pretty limited. In fact, that means... Foreman knocked Morrison out in 4 Maidana brutalized Khan in 6 and Terry Norris never won a fight
I would not be shocked if Tyson Wlad went to the cards to be honest. History shows us that that a bigger fighter could neutralize Tyson in the clinches. The guys most likley to unravel his game early for my money are Louis and Lewis. He should stay clear of fighters with surnames like L**is.
I think Wlad would beat Foreman 10 out of 10 times. The only guys from that list who I think would beat Wlad are Ali, Lewis, Holmes, Liston and Tyson.
It's amazing how little people understand about boxing. Most people don't even know what power and chin even mean. Your point is dead on. Wlad lost because he froze; Big problem. But his chin? He regularly absorbs big shots, and he's gotten up more times than Floyd Patterson did(Who stayed down twice.) Tyson's power was in his speed. Meaning, he'd have to land the type of shots he was used to landing to have any effect at all. Big dudes who were good at slowing things down and holding on took him the distance. He also ate jabs like candy. Young Foreman was stronger, heavier handed, and more relentless. He'd do better than Tyson against Wlad, even if both may beat him.
I can only think of Smith and Tillis, both clinging on for dear life. Tyson destroyed plenty of Wladesque straight up boxing jabbers bigger than Smith and Tillis And what he ate jabs like Candy? He's 1 of the best jab slippers of all time, unless you're only watching the Douglas and Lewis fights past his best Wlad's chin isn't china but he isn't comfortable mixing it up either, you could say that's a mentality, but what if he's forced to mix it up?
Lewis I agree with. Louis, on the other hand, would have a horrible time of it and likely get dropped and stopped within six. His hands down, body bent over, shuffle forward style would leave him horribly exposed to anything Wlad threw at him whilst making it very difficult to land anything of his own with any regularity. He would not be able to outjab him (based on comparable fight footage), would not be able to effectively infight (clinch) and lacks the chin or head movement to withstand any solid shots that Wlad would be catching him with. His best bet would be the overhand right, though that's also the punch Wlad's most wary of, and is hardest to hit with. Nonetheless, that would likely be his best weapon. Honestly, I really hate writing Louis off so completely here, but legend that he is I don't realistically think he has a chance. It just comes down to styles again. The fighters I think who really give Wlad problems are not necessarily ATGs, but simply pose the right combination of attributes to neutralise his own. Guys like McCall and Ron Lyle for example. McCall, especially, would be a nightmare for Wlad.
I think Wlad does better than this. I think he losses to Lewis & Foreman by KO, Holmes, Ali by decision, decisions Tyson (or early Tyson KO), and KO's Louis, Frazier, Marciano, Patterson. Liston's the toughest one to call for me, but I think Wlad would win by decision. I think the smaller legends have more problems dealing with Wlad than most people think.
I think Frazier has a better shot than Tyson does. Given the way he jerked and feinted while coming forward, I think he exploits Wlad's somewhat insecure tendencies to hold back and get triggered to block early and works him over on the inside to stop him late.
Hmm interesting not as biased as usual, suprised they didn't include Dempsey. IMO Louis KO Mid Rounds Wlad (vice versa is VERY possible, but leaning more towards Louis) Wlad TKO10 Marciano Wlad KO5 Patterson is about right Lison TKO9 Wlad (very tough one to gauge, but I think Lison stops him late when Wlad tank starts running out) Ali UD Wlad Frazier UD Wlad (I think Frazier's very good upperbody movement and constant pressure will save him here, after the first few rounds he'll get more effecient at closing the distance and will grind down Wlad, probably hits the deck tho, if Wlad fought aggressivley he might stop Frazier but I he doesn't fight like that Foreman KO3 Wlad (Foreman will make Wlad **** bricks and I think even a glancing blow would make Wlad freeze up. Wlad would have to hold on for dear life to survive but I think Foreman would just shove him off) Holmes UD Wlad (Agree with analysis) Tyson KO7 Wlad (Agree with analysis) And I agree with the Lewis pick
