1)no, you didn't but some here have. but fair enough, you didn't say anything about a stiff jab knocking him out :thumbsup

2)and in my scenario, i don't see tyson landing one or two punches at a time. given wlad's size and style i don't see tyson's uppercut being a factor. his left hook is the most dangerous weapon imo and wlad will have to keep the distance and keep tying him up ALL THE TIME to neutralize

i'm not disagreeing with tyson's power or wlad's chin. I'm saying that wlad has been AMAZING at avoiding damage. tyson will hit him but not consistently, which is the key

it's as fair a comparison as saying 03 wlad is the same as today. tyson wasn't prime for douglas but do you think the best wlad there ever was fought sanders?

1)i would disagree. some fighters develop durability or at least ways of compensating for it as their career progresses. even if wlad has a weak chin, he's making damn sure no one touches it

2)that's not really a consensus rule. can you name all time greats without a chin? there are some

Great points ... The only difference I see is that Tyson was very fast with his hands and feet, moving to his target. I don`t think he needs 2 or 3 to get Vlad in big trouble... Just a sloid one over Vlad`s hanging low, out away from his body left hand...

Prime has nothing to do with chin. Now hiding it and protecting it are two different things. Vlad HAS improved at protecting it, but. It doesn`t mean its improved. And given Tyson`s speed and power, he gets to Vlad, who is a tad robotic and detonates his chin. If you might remember, the Tyson that fought Douglas was soft a bit flabby around his stomach and obliques. And he was splitting up with Givens and did not have a good training camp.. Truth be told after Spikns, Tyson was no longer in his physical and mental prime...

Come on ! Who has been out there to truly test it ???????? You are now willing to bet his chin against some of history`s hardest hitters ??

True, but I still don`t think that was prime Hearns and Barkley could crack.

Agreed, a prime Lewis hits too hard for Vlad... And he always made good use of his jab and always seemed to punch with more intent than Vlad. No doubt about it, he`d get to Vlad and hurt him ...

Who`s talking about `brilliant` ... I`m saying fair/poor and in danger against true punchers. I think its a very vaild point in saying that in super-fights Vlad`s chin fair target ...I think it holds Terry Norris back etc etc.

fair enough :thumbsup Yeah i meant to say tyson would only land one or two shots at a time but as you said, he does have that power. for years, I shared the exact same opinion as you. in recent times though I've been so impressed with wlad's technical abilities and generalship that I think he could pull the trick...

Yes we have seen eye to eye :) I will say that if Tyson doesn`t get him by rd 6, I definitley could see it going down just like you say... Tyson could get frustrated if he didn`t get a guy go early or easy enough. Thats whats great about these posts, great debates !
