This Wlad was before Steward, with Steward in the corner Wlad could defeat any boxer who was shorter and smaller than Wlad. Jab-jab-clinch during 12 rounds and Ali would have been exhausted, dragging on himself Vladimir all fight.
Terrible fight to watch, but if any ones hitting the deck here its Ali, courtesy of Wlads left hook. Alis going to tire rapid if he starts hugging and pulling a man that's much bigger and stronger than himself. Ali loses a 12 round decision, Wlad isn't an honest fighter nor is Ali, if its not going their way they maul, and Ali had size and strength over 95% of his opponents, not here...I think on neutral ground the end result is Wlad ud
Wladimir UD12 over Ali Wladimir is the more skilled boxer with the bigger punch. He would win this convincingly.
And Wlad too, Steward turned him into a "boxing robot" , which was an effective "machine" against boxers who were shorter than Wlad. Why not, Wald handled with David Haye, but of course it would have depended on the time and place where this fight would have taken place. If this fight had took place in the USA in the 60-70s, i think Wlad after 2-3 rounds of "gay porn" in the ring would have been thrown out of the ring by audience and he would have been disgraced and "banned" in the USA. But in Germany in the 2000s with the German referees, I think the fight would have been similar to the other Vladimir's fights with the abundance of clinching and wrestling.
lol @ people who still think Wlad could beat Ali even after he failed for 12 rounds to land a glove on Fury. https://fightstate1-devise.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/fury-lead1-660x400.jpg How's a guy who can't move and throw punches at he same time going to trouble Ali? Ali makes him look like a kid trying to catch butterflies in a jar.
Is this where we create a composite of Ali using all the best traits he had throughout his career? Fighters change, sometimes considerably. Ali wasn't as quick in his later career, but he was more savvy and could take a hell of a punch. Young Ali had more speed and movement, but, as we saw, a small cruiser just about sparked him out with one punch. The same could apply to Wlad. There's a distinct change in style with Steward.
First of all, at that time Wladimir didn't have an authoritative coach, Jonathan Banks was trying to become a coach for Wladimir, but he could not. And the second Fury was the first boxer who managed to crack the "software" of Vladimir and when the "jab-jab-clinch" strategy didn't work, no one in Vladimir's corner couldn't force him turn on a "plan B" and take a risk. Only Steward could influence Wladimir. But i think in rematch Wladimir would have taken risk.
