watching film vs being in there are 2 different things especially in regards to power. He's never fought anyone who hits as hard and Volodymyr & Vova probably has the fastest hands as any opponent he's faced aswell.

I think you're underestimating Chambers if you think his gameplan will be suddenly thrown out the window because he feels Wladimir's power. Chambers will be alright as long as he doesn't get hit cleanly, but we'll see what happens come March 20.

Here's another statistic I want to tell you about. In rounds 1 & 2 during the Chambers/Dimitrenko fight, Dimitrenko landed only ONE clean shot in rounds 1 & 2, and it was a body shot. On average, Dimitrenko was probably landing like to 6 to 7 punches a round, and Chambers rarely got hit cleanly. Dimitrenko was mostly hitting air and gloves. If you don't believe me you can go watch the fight for yourself.

Chambers certainly has the defense to make Wladimir miss a lot, the question remains how good Chambers chin is. Because he will get it, he just needs to take a couple hits a round, but at the same time land some of his own. If Chambers can sustain that for 12 rounds and not get hit cleanly, he's capable of winning the fight.

I favor Wlad heavily, but that in no way means I've written Chambers off. I think he's the best American HW and I think he's the best of the HW division who doesn't have or hasn't yet had a title. Chambers may also be at his peak. He might pull the upset. Wlad has had a long layoff, injury, and let's not forget for a young man he's had a lot of miles on him. Been stopped three times in 60 pro fights. His body has been at the highest level since his highly decorated amateur days in 100+ bouts. It's been nine years since his first pro world title. When you look at it that way, you realize he could start sliding any time. May have already started considering the layoff from injury. Plus Chambers has had the kind of good, sensible pro experience, the rounds, that a lot of recent challengers have not had. His rounds with Brock, Dimitrenko, Povetkin and Peter do count for something. He actually hasn't boxed that many fewer rounds than Wladimir. I think that counts for something.

It doesn't matter that it doesn't surprise him. Wlad does EXACTLY the same thing for years and it still works. In fact he even lost in variety since Steward. Seriously, Chambers is tailor-made for Wlad, if there is a style-match up he wins 100 of 100 (not considering some freak incident, injury, etc.) it's against guys like Chambers.

lmao Using how the Dimitrenko fight went to try to make a comparision. Dimitrenko is garbage. They may both be 6'7 and from Ukraine but that's where the similarities cease.

I agree that Eddie has a good defense but against Volodymyr,no.

It'll certainly be interesting to see what Chambers does, given what he is facing.

That I think we all agree on.

A smallish (by today's standards) heavyweight with good speed and skills, but next to no power....... trying to rack up rounds against a big, skilled fighter whom he can hardly reach without getting hammered by long reaching, KO power, which comes in both hands.

    Go EDDIE! LOL

I think once Wlad sees he has Chambers softened up a bit, he'll be all over him like a cheap suit, as he was Byrd. Same outcome, but it'll last fewer rounds. I don't see Chambers withstanding this beating for more than 5 rounds.

Wlad is going to annihilate Chambers. Wlad is all wrong for Chambers. He's tall and powerful with good timing. Chambers foot movement is not very existent, he leans back That won't work with Wlad. You know what happens when you lean back against a guy with long arms who hits like a truck?
    You get knocked out.

Wladimir is a very hard hitter, no doubt, but the problem with Wladimir opponents is that they get hit cleanly too much.

I think Chambers has a good chin, and he's proven that he's very hard to hit cleanly. As long as Chambers can make Wladimir not land a single clean shot, he's very capable of winning the match.

Dimitrenko is not where near the same class as Vitali or Vlad. Vitali and Vlad both have more skills, experience, are much stronger, I remember when they sparred some with Dimitrenko years ago in Germany while they were still with Klaus Peter Kohl, not contest. Vitali or Vlad would easily knock Dimitrenko out. It was so one-sided as anyone would expect.
