It doesn't work like that. Nobody who fought Wlad even compares to Ali. So that's not a good statement. He would outbox Wlad based on his foot and hand speed, enough said.
also i question wlads stamina when it is a 15 rounder, when ali is able to avoid wlads jab he can just win rounds and win a wide ud or late tko, he was a very smart fighter i don't think he couldnt have wlad figured out, coulb be a bit of a boring bout though.
Wlad got koed 3 times to Ali's 0. The three guys who Koed Wlad were not top 5 contenders either. Purrity was a tough journeyman with about 12 losses, Corrie Sanders was a part time boxer and full time golfer. Lamon Brewster was pretty good but already lost 3 times by wide UD to lesser guys. Even a Ali in the 70's would work Wlad over in route to a late round stoppage lets say 12th round.
This just isnt true, unless you want to limit Ali's prime to something absurd like 1-2 years. If you disregard guys who banged wlad down, he really hasnt dropped any rds to anyone else. In fact Id say Wlad has dropped way less rds to boxers than Ali had. Wlad has only lost rds where he was put down, that means sanders and peter and he lost those rds from knockdowns. People say style advantages done mean anything, you are delusional!! Styles mean everything in fights. This match up favors Wlad as much as you guys dotn want to admit it.
Since when was ALI a big KO puncher, you cant seem to look past the styles. This point you are making is mute, it is not important. Ali had a better chin than wlad..big deal. Wlad hits way harder than Ali and Ali doesnt bang.
Being at a style advantage with all things other being the same as they would in a normal bout (no cuts, butts, dq's) means exactly that. I dont know what your saying, you say styles make fight but they dont..They either do or they dont, in this case they do. Maybe you should do some research.
Stop talking like Ali's and Wlad's opposition are even close to comparable. And styles don't mean everything in bouts...but thats not saying it doesn't have an effect on a bout. A style disadvantage can be overcome.
Styles make fights as in a boxer can be troubled by a certain style, example...a pressure fighter. But does that mean the boxer who is troubled by pressure fighters is automatically going to lose?
A style advantage may be overcome, but its usually a mismatch when it is, when you are talking about top lvl guys, styles make the fight, its been said forever for a good reason, because it is true. Of course Ali has had better competition where did i say otherwise? You said wlad has dropped a lot more rds than Ali, i said he hasnt. I also stated in fact that the only rds Wlad has really lost he has been knocked down. Wlad has never been outboxed like Ali has vs a Doug Jones.
It is a big deal because that means he would absorb ANY of Wlad's punches. He is also way faster then Wlad and has better footwork.
You hope he would absorb his punches, but what does that mean. im saying Wlad could outbox Ali over 12 rds and win a decision, i doubt he would knock ali out, if foreman didnt do it I doubt wlad would. But, that doesnt mean wlad could knock Ali down, he could. I wouldnt go as far as to say Ali was way faster than wlad, he has a hand speed adv and a foot speed adv. Chris byrd and eddie chambers also has hand speed adv on Wlad, he works well with these kinds of guys. Wlad has very good footwork, in fact it is kinda astonishing for his size, he is the most athletic big man prob ever in boxing.
I never said Wlad has dropped more rounds than Ali...and yes you are implying that Ali and Klitschko have similar, or comparable opposition when you say Klitschko has probably dropped less rounds than Ali. I've also never said on this thread that Ali would outbox Klitschko...I did state though that neither Klitschko has been in with anyone close to the top guys Ali has beaten. The era they are in now is unfortunate, but we will never know how good each Klitschko can be...or if we have already seen them at their best or not because they havn't got the opposition to challenge them. Both Klitschko's would need to step up a level or two in my opinion especially when were talking about a Prime Ali...but once again, they havn't got anyone to challenge them which means we havn't really seen them pushed to the next level (if they've got a next level).
so then how do you explain the fact that fighters in the 20's, 30's. 40's 50's etc. were able to fight at a high pace for 15 rounds and more often than not modern fighters are gassed after fighting at a pedestrian pace after 5-7 rounds? Explain it. All this "Modern training techniques" crap that people come out with is ridiculous. What do they do that is so modern? I'll answer my own question: They run, they hit pads, they hit bags, they spar, they do basic exercises, some of them lift weights. That's different ton the old time fighters...how? It's all crap. The only concievalbe advantage modern fighters have are people in their camps who know how they can cut weight without it hurting them too much but guess what? The old timers didn't have to. They weighed in on the day of the fight and they were as fit s a fiddle. They fought far more often and were far more honed and sharp and that's why you only need to look at the film footage to see that the level of competition-the bar if you will, was raised far higher. You my dear friend are talking shite.
I am not implying Wlad has had better level of competition, I know he hasnt but Wlad has been fighting the best available so I cannot fault him. And I apologize u are not the one who said that Ali has not dropped rds it was pete the prince.
