I just can't see anything Holmes does better than Wlad. The fighters I'd give a chance to beat Wlad are the ones with great power, or the ones who can outsize him for a decision win. I was one of the few giving Tyson Fury a good chance going into the bout, because of his size, speed and volume punching was something Wlad had never faced before. Holmes lacked both size and power. To oversimplify it a bit, Holmes was a poor man's version of Wlad. He used his jab and boxing skills. He's not going to outjab Wlad, Wlad's dimensions pose too much of a problem so Wlad will pick up more rounds. And he doesn't have the power to ko Wlad. Wlad would be the second hardest puncher Holmes ever faced, though. Holmes has an ATG chin, so I think he'd make it to a decision, but it would be a comfortable Wlad win.
Pure fanboi fantasy. Flat out ignoring how Wlad done against lesser versions of some of those fighters. He couldn't come close to even dropping David Haye. How dafuk does he KO 1 Michael Spinks?atsch He complete failure against Povetkin and stoppage loss against Brewster proves he gets destroyed by Frazier and Foreman. If there was a 4 clinch and your out rule in the Povetkin fight - he would have lost 2mins into the first round. And that is far from a joke. Its a 100% fact easily provable. Yeah , unfair on his opponents , but not on him. How did Ali clinch more than Wlad?:huh He clinched for one fight. Wlad clinched in far worse ways for 10 years. When they took John Ruiz constant holding away from him in the Roy jones fight , he lost wide to a natural Middle weight. Take clinching away from Wlad and the same thing would happen. He likely loses by Knock out to every man on that list. This fraud lost bad to Fury. So bad he couldn't even get a decision in his home town with billionaire's and Ukrainian presidents on his team. All because he didn't have his size advantage to choke hold Fury into exhaustion.
Wlad vs Dempsey Jack Dempsey 66 wins (51 K.O.) 6 losses 11 draws Height- 6'1" Reach- 77" Manassa Mauler is one of the most popular boxer of his generation and one of the most fabled athletes in history. He was a fearsome brawler and threw furious combinations, the likes of which the sport had never seen. Dempsey was the greatest fighter of all time. Even though he is no longer considered number one he is often ranked among the best in history. Jack knocked out four named fighters before his title match with Jess Willard. Willard stood more than six and a half feet tall and routinely weighed in excess of 240 pounds. Many critics expressed concern that Dempsey might lose his life in the ring, as had a previous Willard opponent, William "Bull" Young. The champion outweighed Dempsey by nearly sixty pounds and Dempsey still won. In the first round he floored Willard seven times. By the close of the round, Willard was suffering from a cracked skull, shattered jaw, missing teeth, and broken ribs. His face was a mask of blood from a cut across his cheek. When the bell closing the first ended, Dempsey sauntered victoriously out of the ring, mistakenly taking it for granted that Willard had been through enough. Jack had to be called back into the ring by his manager, Doc Kearns, who had been astonished to learn that Willard had no intention of quitting. After taking the worst beating that any heavyweight champion had ever incurred in the ring, Willard, amazingly, fought on through the second and third rounds. Though Dempsey tried desperately, he could not floor the determined champion again. But, before the fourth round could begin, big Jess had endured too much pain from the wounds of the first and retired on his stool. Jack's next big fight was against Georges Carpentier. Dempsey was the bigger man in the ring and his shots took their toll on Georges. Eventually Carpentier would lay senseless on the canvas. The challenger was not revived until long after the referee's count had concluded. His next big fight was against a man named Luis Angel Firpo. Dempsey tore into the challenger without mercy and floored him nine times in the fight. This was one of the wildest, most celebrated championship brawls of all time. Dempsey even beat a young Jack Sharkey. Wladimir Klitschko 64 wins (53 K.O) 4 losses Height-6′ 6½″ Reach: 81″ Wladimir is historically the longest reigning Heavyweight Champion for the IBF, WBO & IBO Heavyweight Titles of both measurements of defenses and time. His notable wins are against Chambers & Chagaev. Klitschko was shockingly knocked out by Lamon Brewster. He was floored by Corrie Sanders in 2003 and was upset by journeyman Ross Puritty. I have to give this to Jack Dempsey. Dempsey wins by K.O.
Wlad VS Johnson I may be in a minority when answering this question but I think Johnson has the tools and skills to upset and get under the skin of Wlad. Klitschko obviously has the size advantage here and most defiantly the punching power. Chin goes to Johnson - some people bash his chin due to the Ketchel fight but they forget... 1. he survived Sam Langford, 2. he survived Sam Mcvey multiple times. 3. after being dropped by Ketchel, he knocked 3 of his teeth out and punched him unconscious in about 2 seconds. Wlad is a slow paced fighter. Not that it's a bad thing - look at his record. But due to his physical traits that's the way that best suits him, using his size, and pacing himself - as big dudes are notorious to having bad stamina (larger muscles drains the body). Would the single-puncher Klitschko who fires his punches relativley slow get caught out and schooled by the faster reflexed counter punching Jack Johnson? If Wladimir fought his typical plodding and jabbing fight then I'm sure Jack would paw away those slow old telephone poles and counter back - constantly taunting and flashing those gold teeth. If, as we've seen once in a blue moon (and maybe July 2nd), Klitschko comes out fighting more agressive at a faster pace then possibly he could overwhelm the smaller man, using the size and strength, but I doubt it. W15 Jack Johnson UD Conditioning, defense and counter punching spells victory for the Galveston Giant!
Matching him against fighters that fought in eras where holding was arguably more acceptable than Wlad's seems odd, apologies for the lack construction, I'll attempt a response to each matchup tomorrow
Wlad is wayyy overrated. The known and understood ATG from the past all knock him out. Wlad does not have the whiskers or desire to win at all costs necessary to win against the toughest competition. Remember he was koed three times in laughable fashion by relative nobodies. Then the joke that is Tyson Fury was able to easily outbox Wlad. Not good.
like fat retired terrible neveracheiver nothing sanders did. that's just the first hw champion of the list historically, theres really no point in going any further if that retired nobody neverdidanything fattie killed prime waldo with absolute ease in seconds with wlad not even trying to win in a return.
I'm going to get Herol a life size blow up doll of Waldo for Christmas. Seriously, that would be funny.
Dempsey Foreman Liston Stop him Sylistically he is a hard nights work for Johnson. Schmeling Frazier Marciano Have a shot at beating him,I'd give Frazier the best chance of the three. Baer is a wild card ,if he can get that over- hand right home it will be good night for the clincher ,but chances are he gets out boxed. Walcott ,because of his switching and pivoting would non plus Wlad and he hit hard and accurately enough to drop him. 60/40 for Wlad. Young doesn't carry enough power to worry Wlad, so he gets beaten decisively. Witherspoon gives him a tough fight but probably is a little too slow to get him going, and he wouldn't out box him imo. Weaver is too static and his chin did not match his physique. Wlad beats Norton and Lyle, he stops Norton and either tko's or decisions big Ron. Golota has the potential to give Wlad a very close go, he had decent power good size and could box .His fragile psyche probably lets him down if he ships a couple of howitzers though. Spinks doesn't do well here his herky jerky rhythm keeps him in the fight until the half way mark but Wlad then nails him with something big.
I don't feel like doing a detailed ****ysis right now so I'm just gonna say that Wlad beats Schemeling. Schemeling was highly overrated.
My take for what it is worth: Jack Dempsey – Sooner or later Wlad would bite on a feint and Jack would put him to sleep. Jack Johnson – This would be an interesting fight. Johnson would need every trick in his repertoire to win. A prime Johnson using the kind of tactics that he used in the Willard fight, might take a decision. Max Schmelling – At his best Wlad would probably take a decision or stop Schmeling late, but Schmeling’s right hand would be a constant danger, and we might see an upset here. Max Baer – At his brilliant best Wlad probably jabs and clinches his way to a points win, but he would have some scary moments, and an upset is possible. Joe Walcott – Walcott’s combination of speed power and mobility, make him a live underdog in this fight. A prime Wlad probably takes the decision, or stop’s him late. Sonny Liston – Liston applies systematic pressure behind the jab, to walk Wald down, and stop him in the second half of the fight. Rocky Marciano – Wlad is probably able to use his size to smother Marciano, and prevent him from playing his game, but he had better watch out for that Suzie Q. Joe Frazier – Again, Wlad is probably able to maul and smother his way to a win, but I wouldn’t care to put money on it. George Foreman – Prime Foreman probably gets through and rings Wlad’s bell in the early rounds. If he can’t however, Wlad is going to take him into deep water and drown him. Ken Norton – Norton is simply not cautious enough, and Wlad clean’s his clock. Ron Lyle – Wald is probably able to maul Lyle and stop him, but an upset is within the bounds of possibility. Jimmy Young – Young would be an ideal opponent for Wald. He doesn’t have the power to hurt him, and he probably isn’t going to outbox him. Michael Spinks – Wlad would systematically break him down, and stop him at some point. Tim Witherspoon – This would be a very competitive fight, with Wald managing to neutralise Witherspoon’s game, enough to take a decision. Mike Weaver – Weaver could be a danger, but the most likely outcome is that Wlad shuts his game down, and takes the fight. Andrew Golota – Golotta finds a way to lose.
