Who wins? so based on that "win", how does he do against wlad? im very confident wlad stops him. ruiz dropped valuev in round 2 but it wasn't called. the ropes clearly held him up. ruiz beat valuev to the punch a lot of the time. wlad's handspeed and sharp straight punches will cut the giant to shreds
Wlad would hurt Valuev bad, maybe even stop him but no way the fight is happening,Valuev knows the deal
lol...meaning the matchup is intriguing but the fight doesn't have a lot of action hahah solid prediction but i think Valuev is more susceptible to those right crosses. he really has slow reactions and a pretty open guard unlike Thompson or Sultan who were defensive minded. Wlad could run circles around him and set up those lead right hands all night. That's the one punch i noticed Ruiz had a lot of success with. He just didn't commit enough. Valuev can't land the jab unless u stand at midrange and wladimir is extremely mobile. also. valuev doesn't seem to take a punch quite so well as many thought. Ruiz rocked him several times. Barrett buckeled his knees too. Methinks he's just lucky he hasn't faced a puncher yet Wlad by murder.
Wlad would tear this guy apart, depends on how long Valuev can take flush power shots from Klitschko and remain conscious. 3rd round maybe? But if Valuev is smart he should pull a Seldon after tasting the first big punch and save himself the brain damage.
If you ask me who is the better boxer and fighter, I would answer Wlad without hesitation. BUT, speaking of hesitation, If Wlad is hesitant against a man of Valuev's size, it definitely gives Valuev a shot at winning. This match up is very intriguing to me for that very reason. Will Wlad show up and attack, or will he be tentative? It's all a mental game. If Wlad has the confidence and is not made apprehensive by seeing an opponent much larger then himself, he should be able to win handily. If Wlad fight the way he did against Ibragamov,...uh oh!
This isn't as clear cut as people think. Valuev has a good jab and a reach and heigh advantage that Wlad isn't used to. Fair enough he's a lot quicker, more power and a better fighter technically, but if he's imtimidated by a guy of Valuev's size he might end up getting caught cold or picked off with the jab.
Well it wouldn't be a lot of fun, but it would be interesting to see how each man would set out to overcome the other's supposed advantages. Well we're back to the same old thing! How aggressive will Wlad be? Because Valuev is very difficult to reach you have to step into him aggressively to land clean and volume. There are lots of different ways to do this. I think that Wlad will be his usual cautious self against the bigger man - not normal for him - and peck out a points lead. Valuev will get heavily marked and be looking at a KO for the win from about nine. I think he'd get pulled before the end. I keep waiting for it to happen...
again even if wlad was hesitant and "afraid" his superior foot movement keeps him out of range and he will score enough to dominate. Valuev is so slow he's got to have someone standing right in front of him to land effectively. Wlad doesn't give u that kind of easy target. Liakovich was shot to pieces and 20 pounds overwieght. Ruiz gave him some movement and u saw the limitations once again. Chagaev used even more foot movement and he beat Valuev to the punch all night. The Giant can't react quick enough when a guy moves. This would not be competitive at all. Like u Haye fans say, speed kills.
Wladimir will land his jab so many times that the fake skin will melt off the alien's face and the alien within will finally emerge.
I think that Valuev is surprisingly mobile for a man his size, as is Wlad. I wouldn't expect Wlad to dominate with footspeed, neccesarily.
that's a fair pt. got to think more about scale i guess. still chagaev showed everyone the blueprint to beat the Giant...movement. don't let him get set and he's there to be had.
Vlad........easy. What does Valuev have to challenge Vlad? I'll tell you......**** all! I am no fan of Vlad, but despite Valuev's size Vlad has a massive advantage in both speed and one-punch-power. Vlad would play safety first (when does he not nowadays) for 2 or 3 rounds, and then start throwing in his straight rights. After that it is only a matter of time; Vlad by KO anytime between rounds 3 and 6.
