You people act like Chauncy is ancient. He's still just a kid at 27 years old.

What happened is this....after the IBF eliminator tourney Povetkin backed out and has done so repeatedly. Then David Haye came up and backed out and has done so repeatedly. The continual push down of fights has seriously hampered the contenders and has canceled their fights and pushed them up to championship bouts.

We lost Sosnowski vs Audley...got Audley vs Sprott...and they both get title shots. We lost Sam Peter fighting someone more than Nagy Aguilara. We lost Shannon Briggs having to beat somebody for his shot. We lost Kevin Johnson beating a top tier guy. Tua was doing very well up to the Barrett fight and Adamek has done very well himself. Neither of them want the fight even now and compound the problem more. Arreola had to do some work for his shot but that is not the precedent. The precedent is that all the guys who have done the most work for a shot do not want to take it so you don't really have guys who have done all that much now in line.

That leaves Chauncy and Chisora now being reported by legitimate outlets as favorites. It is not their fault. Chauncy is the highest available contender. Chisora adds some value I guess in trying to smoke David Haye out of his spider hole.

Taking the shot is the whole point of getting in line with the title organizations. Chauncy is in line and the state of HW Boxing might propel him to a quicker than expected title shot. Good for him if it does. At least he is willing to fight the champ.
