Can you imagine if it took David Haye 10-11 rounds to stop Samuel Peter? He'd be brutalized by everyone in the General Forum. It's this kind of double standard that I don't advocate.

If david haye ever stopped sam peter, even now, I would be shocked.

Why? He's a stationary target? Haye would in all likelihood land at will, just as Wladimir Klitschko did.

Just IMO, but I really doubt Haye would take such a hounding on here if he stopped Peter in almost the same amount of rounds that it took him to stop an old, faded, one fight from retirement john ruiz.

If Haye fought the same Sam Peter that Wlad fought, id be impressed with Haye if he stopped him at all, let alone faster then wlad. He would get a lot of props for that, at least from me.

    just IMO though.

He will also take some shots back even though Peter is slow.
I also don't think that Hayes punches will do same effect on Peter that wlads punches did, unless he finds a way to shoot from angles that peter wont see. I can see two scenarios is most likely - Peter TKo or Haye UD. it is shure would have been good rabbit punching contest.

I disagree. You must realize by now that the majority of the General will condemn Haye no matter what he does on the account of him not accepting the contract presented by Wladimir? He was criticized for allowing Ruiz to land a glove on him after their lopsided encounter last time out, and I tend to believe he'd be criticized for not stopping a battle-worn, irrelevant Samuel Peter over 12, also. IMO.

It'd be infinitely more entertaining than any of Wladimir's last four outings. That's a certainty.

peter isn't "irrelevant" by any means.
haye has dug his own grave by renegging on fights with both klitschkos after talking trash repeatedly about both..and now he's built up his hypemachine he doesn't have a bad word to say about either of them.

nationality aside, try to look at things in perpective.

if haye beat peter he'd get rep for that - but it would also put more pressure on him to fight a klit.

    Forget that campaign, please. :verysad

I have things in perspective and I might stand alone. Haye is fighting terrible opposition, and so is Wladimir. Peter was a mandatory, Audley makes business sense. WK is borderline unwatchable, Haye is exciting. If the two ever fought, the big Ukrainian would in all likelihood win by stoppage.

alright, good call. just needed to know where you stood.

i understand why haye is doing what he is doing, but there's no excuse defending it.

At the end of this fight Haye was at home crying with his wife's arm around him, telling him he doesn't have to fight if he doesn't want to

I thought Haye was fun to watch when he was at CW not so much when he went up. His fight with barret was fun? Valuev? RUiz?
I enjoy wlads fight because you see master at his job and I can't tell the same thing about HAye. I would rather watch Wlad than Haye;)

Sam is not as slow and stationary as people make him out to be. He done very well in the first round vs Wlad, bobbing and weaving, he even landed a left hook. It's those left hooks and couple right hands he ate in the 2nd round which got him really disheartened. He knew he's got no chance so he wasnt even trying.
