    Wlad,
I know you and your brother are well schooled, big thinkers and even play chess. Haye and Chisora probably couldn't even understand the rules of draughts but even they realize publicity (good or bad) sells fights.

I must admit when Frank Bruno went into doing Pantomines I failed to see the connection with boxing - until watching Chisora and Haye last night that is.

Good post. Classy and educated, why would Wlad let himself be dragged down by sewer rats? He is right, the sport needs to extricate itself back into the mainstream and into its noble beginnings and if the powers that be need to take the whip out to get it in line, so be it. It's not all about the money and cheap thuggeries like these blood-lusting spoiled brats and vicious savages imagine it to be, it's more about decency, nobility, and humanity like any sport ought to be.

February 19, 2012 | Wladimir Klitschko's statement after Chisora's scandalous behaviour during fight week

    Dear friends,

I am shocked and deeply embarrassed by the actions of Dereck Chisora and his team over this past week.

It saddens me how he represented the sport of boxing and disrespected the Champion of the World Vitali Klitschko at the weigh-in and fight night.

But even more embarrassing and disgraceful to the sport was the post fight press conference.

With journalists from all over the world in attendance, this same man Dereck Chisora, got into a fight with Adam Booth, the trainer of David Haye, and David Haye himself. Dereck then promised out loudly multiple times right in front of the press to "personally SHOOT AND KILL David Haye!!!"

For all of the great Champions from the past that have been polishing the image of the sport of boxing and giving it the glamour, respect and recognition while setting a good example for the youth of the world to follow, this type of behavior kills all that hard work from the former champs and teaches disrespect for the sport and fellow human beings.

There has to be consequences for these kinds of actions and must never be tolerated by the boxing organizations, the media, fellow boxers and boxing fans. It must be stopped, otherwise the sport of boxing is going to go down the hill fast!

I just wanted to share my feelings and thoughts with you and hope some type of action is taken to show the world that the sport of boxing WILL NOT tolerate this kind of behaviour.

    With respect,

    Wladimir Klitschko

Is Wlad angry because the post-fight melee had more action/excitement/headlines (and it didn't actually have much at all) than Wlads whole career? :)

Wlad should have just stayed out of it. He looks like a jerk putting this out.

    Well said. Fully agree.

But its all from where your standpoint happens to be.

If you are one who sees heavyweight boxing as severely needing the overdue boost in mainstream popularity, then the extra sales and media exposure from a classless thug like Chisora's antics are worth the costs.

But if you are already selling massive crowds, and still act like true professionals each and every time out, you don't see the cost of thuggery as worth it.

But the Chisoras of the heavyweight division are a good contrast to the K Bros. Gotta admit that.

Wlad and Vitali are clearly against that kind of behavior and given their stance on sportsman conduct, they would seem to be even more motivated to beat the hell out of these kind of shallow minded thugs. :good
