Some of you guys were debating this the other day. Lets have a poll. I say in one fight on their best day- Bowe knocks him out with an overhand right. In a series of three- Wladdy clinches and jabs his way to late stoppages or points victories in two. My reasoning is that Bowe got a great win over an all-time great in Holyfield. After that, its tough to find another good fight. Holy had heart problems by the time they fought again, and the "wins" over Tubbs and Golota were...well. Forget Dokes and Ferguson, his next best win after ill Holyfield would be Tyrell Biggs! Wladdy never got an all time great win, and sadly, will probably never get the opportunity. Also, he has those nasty losses. But he now consisantly shows up in shape to do damage against guys like Byrd (twice), Peter, Brock, Brewster, and Schultz. His legacy has yet to be written, and he will undobutedlyhave more good wins to point to over the next couple of years. Bowe reached to greater heights once, but Wladdy is more consistanly good. Since I called it for Bowe, I am voting for Bowe.
I think this would be a great fight. Bowe could ko wald but he needs to get to him first. wlad moves and works the jab the whole fight. bowe has to find a way to get to him. he wasnt the quickest cat. wlad's handspeed and foot movement should enable him to win a competitve but clear UD. Bowe has a chance at a ko late if wlad tires and gets sloppy though. remember, bowe is at his best when trading inside. wlad will never let that happen.
i think your underestimating wlad's stamina like most. he's threw 500+ punches against peter while boxing and moving the whole fight. that's the type of fight he needs to employ here. he threw 70+ punches/per round against lamon in the rematch. that's pretty impressive for a hw. his stamina problems seem to be a problem of the past..brewster 1, purrity but his chin may be his downfall in this one. i still like wlad slightly.
Gonzales was a good win for Bowe too. At their very very best? I think Bowe wins. Certainly wouldn't count Wlad out. Bowe wasn't exactly hard to hit.
NO WAY NO HOW Wlad beats prime Riddick. Bowe was an absolute force of nature on the inside....and he could HIT! Wlad would score on him coming in, but would get stopped early-mid.
I cant see Wlad beating a prime Bowe, he was great from the inside and out. Wlads chin would probably fail him early on 3rd round TKO for Bowe.
Your smarter then that ! BOWE would get hurt early and have an early night ! BOWE couldnt handle GOLOTAS right ! He would be a sitting duck for VLAD to KO !:bbb
I don't know toosmart. A win over Prime Holy say a lot. And there is no loss to Ross Purity either. I give Wald a lot of credit, as you can wee by my initial post. But that overhand right- wicked.
Wlad's lack of inside game & chin would be his downfall here.....Bowe would pound him on the inside.. bow TKO4
A prime Bowe is 92-93, not 96 when he when he fought Golota. Bowe was fat and out of shape when he fought a prime Golota the first time, and by the second fight he had nothing left. Wlad has a pretty bad chin, and would only be a matter of time before Bowe gets to it IMO.
