During Tyson's title run, he actually beat the Man in the HW division. Wlad has *never* done that.

    Tyson >>> Wlad

    I said available.

Vitali has made clear he isn't available to fight wlad.

He beat iggy who beat shannon who beat lyak who beat brewster.

Sanders attempted unified with vitali after beating wlad and he retired after losing.

From 06 he's fought the best he can which is why he's considered the hw champion today.

(Although if vitali beats chisora, haye and povetkin by stoppage i'd move vitali above wlad personally)

It does not matter what Wlad could do. It only matter what he did. One can phantom multiple scenarios whether or not Wlad would be able to repeat that in other time periods. It is quite possible if you had Wlad and Vitali fighting between 69-75 then Vitali would take punchers like Foreman and Frazier out the equation and Wlad would only have to beat Ali and Norton to maintain the run so suddenly it does not look that outrageous.

If he has to rely on another fighter to take challengers " out of the equation", then suddenly the run isn't all that impressive. Muhammad Ali beat anyone and everyone from that period, ie. Foreman, Frazier, Norton, Quarry, M. Foster, Ellis, Mathis, etc..etc..etc...

He become universally known as champion after his brother, and Lennox Lewis retired, which means the title was "vacant". thanks see ya next time.

But that's how it works. Boxers fight each other and that changes the fabric of the division. It is not as simple as champ fighting 1,2,3,4. If you mix eras you can create fantasy divisions where everything is possible. If Frazier was trashed by Foreman and then by Vitali then he would no longer be considered a top contender so it is safe to assume he may not get a title shot. He could also be bogged down in rematches against Foreman or Vitali and never get a shot at Wlad.

It matters if you are asking me in what sense the fighters he would beat in his hypothetical run were better. Or you wouldn't have asked, presumably.

Unfortunately for the Klitchko's they are not a tag-team, and if discussing Wladimir's hypothetical run in the 70's is ridiculous, the notion that he could take his brother with him is a bit embarrassing.

I dont think its the opponents themselves as much as the performances thats different between wlad and other champs hes compared to

Getting knocked down multiple times and looking out of it vs sam peter is pretty poor even if you win really (by atg standards which is what we're talking about) and some of his other ones have been so cautious it does show theres a big weakness there

I actually think that Wlad needed that comeback just to prove to himself and us he could do it. Getting hurt and winning was something he had basically never done before at any kind of level.

I do accept that get nailed frequently by a puncher that limited is rather poor.

I would say they are a pretty damn good tag team. But, if he is time traveling why can't his brother go with him? hypothetically speaking of course. I believe he does go on to beat Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Kenny Norton line em up. Times-a-changin sweetheart, sit back and watch Vitali and Wladimir make history.

Ali got dropped by Henry Cooper, Foreman lost to Jimmy Young, Mike Tyson got knocked out by Buster Douglas, Joe Louis got stopped by Max Schmeling, Lennox Louis was knocked out by Oliver McCall, and Hasim Rahman. All lost to inferior fights, and are ALL TIME GREATS what drugs are you on?

If that happened I think that Wlad would get KO'd a few times, and Vitali would be beaten by Foreman, Ali and Frazier. Weirdly, Wlad would be remembered more fondly at a guess, as he'd like end up in weird knock-down-scramble up type fights against contenders like Shavers and Lyle and maybe Cooney rather than a limited plodder like Peter.

Fortunately, no one is going back to 70s or taking their brother along with them so no one would ever know how it was going play out so it is ridiculous to say that Wlad's run sucks because he would not be able to repeat it in 69-75.
