Some thoughts on this: 1) It probably won't happen. 2) If it did, it would not surprise me. Wlad has been saying that he intends to break Foreman's record all along. Lot's of people say things, but I guess you can't turn around and be surprised if it is true. 3) Sadly, the division can use him. The 6-8 guys that they have been pushing are all in worse shape...Dillion with his busted chin, Ruiz weakened through sharp weight gain and loss...Parker stinking it up...Poevetkin half dead from wear and covid...etc. 4) His pathway back to a title is unlikley, given that Fury and Joshua have already beaten him. Even if Usyk gets a belt, I think his countryman beats him at this point. Good luck Wladdy, but stay retired.
The way that these belts are multiplying I’m sure Foreman’s record is in serious danger. It won’t mean anything in the future to be a mid to late forty something world champion.
The main belts will be with Fury, Joshua or Wilder and I wouldn't bet on Wlad beating any of those at this stage. Usyk probably outpoints him comfortably too. What's the point of coming back to get a discarded belt against Charr etc. I guess Wlad is fake as hell so that might appeal to him. But still. However, Wlad does always have a puncher's chance, so it's possible on a single night he catches fire and beats anyone. It's actually possible if someone unifies that Wlad goes out there and gets a KO and wins all the belts back. Maybe that's what he's counting on. But if so, I think he'd have to put it on the line, just go bombs away. The cautious style, I couldn't see it working at his age against the 'big three'.
What happened to that whole comeback of Briggs? I remember he came to the uk in 2016 chatting breeze about making a comeback and then I think fought on undercard which was supposed to be against dimitrenko which turned out to be rubbish and he fought some bum instead and then not fought since
