Did you ever see the Ruddock - Lewis fight? Ruddock didn't land a SINGLE punch on Lennox. Not one! Good win for Lewis but had nothing to do with displaying a great chin.
Just rewatched it, I thought he landed a few shots but that might just be me mate :good But my point still stands, Lewis's chin was underrated, never mind Wlads.
yeah and Got KTFO 2 times with taking one single punch badly hurt numerous times, tell me about it. Lewis had a weak chin and you can twist it all you like. i know you Brits has difficult to accept it behind all that nut hugging.
Ok what numerous times was he badly hurt? Wlad has been KTFO 3 times and has not fought anywere NEAR the opposition Lewis fought. If Lewis had a weak chin how the **** did he take all those shots from Vitali (Not to mention when he was well out of his prime) explain that to me? atsch Wladmir would not have made it into the 3rd round of that fight.
.....lets see .... ali was dropped by 185 pound english guy.....205 pound joe frazier......bum of a bum bayonne bleeder.......yet he is praised for his granite chin.....whatever !
But you act like Mercer was throwing all kinds of **** at Wlad... Mercer is not a great puncher and all he was throwing was left jabs. as if that will knock out somebody.
**** no Wlad just as good ukrainian like to drink vodka and nemiroff is very good. I drink it myself adn feel very good after it.Wlad was probably drunk in purrity sanders and brewster fights. and i heard that in peter fight his hangover was just destroing his head
I agree with your main point of course, Lennox took bombs from Briggs, Vitali and Tua and managed to remain on his feet. End of discussion. Lennox was ridiculed by the US press in the early to mid 90s as "Princess Glass Chin", it took Lennox a lot of time and work to convince both fans and critics. What I never understood is why fighters get so much hate and criticism if they go down from an obvious lucky punch. It could happen to anyone.
Wlad's chin whether underrated or not, is still a weakness. Or better said... not necessarily his chin, but his reaction to getting hit hard. Only thing is, with his new style, he doesn't get hit. When he fought Samuel Peter he was still in transition, if they were to fight today, none of those KDs would happen. But Peter is slow. Against a fast David Haye, with power, it will be interesting to see how will he react. Only thing is... I really don't see Haye landing anything hard (or in Haye standards, looping and pulled) on him. Because Haye himself has the same problem. But against a guy who doesn't mind getting hit ala Sanderrs... I don't know, I still think he'd have a hard time. Lewis Lennox had a good chin. He had to had a good chin, because he got hit with bombs in his career. But it wasn't iron. With Steward, Lewis learnt how to hold when hit hard. Otherwise, he'd have had other KDs in his career.
Wlad has one of the weakest chins in boxing history. Corrie Sanders said he was shocked by how weak Wlad's chin was. Sanders claimed he did not even land his best shots. Sanders said that Rahman had a much stronger chin than Wlad. Wlad still has a weak chin. He just got good at hiding it. Plus he has been taking safe fights. I don't know why the nuthuggers always try to claim Wlad can take a good shot. Because he can't.
Hell no. If Briggs would have landed on wlad like he did Lewis in the first round of there fight Wlad would have been flat on his ass. I don't know how Lewis made it out of that round. Briggs landed some major shots. Lennox Lewis is was way better than Wlad Klitschko. Wlad has stayed away from people who has power and can hit him back. He better be glad he didn't fight Briggs a few years back. I think Briggs would have koed him in the first round. Wlad's chin is ****.
