Assuming he squeaks by Leapai 1-Pulev 2-Chisora/Fury winner 3-WBC Titlist Stiverne/Arreola/Wilder/Jennings/Perez 4-Break Hayden's hips :scaredas: 20 straight defenses and call it a career :good
I like the order. The WBC will strip him as soon as he wins the title since they seem to enforce their rule of "no WBC champion can also hold another ABC org's belt" on non-Mexicans. So, it makes sense to take care of Pulev (highest rated contender and IBF mandatory) and the Chisora-Fury winner (winner will be at least top 5) as an optional defense in the mean time. Hopefully by then, the WBC will have itself sorted out and the winner will be game for a big-money unification fight. Here's hoping....
That would be ideal... Pulev, Fury/Chisora winner, WBC beltholder and then maybe a fight with Glazkov back at home in the Ukraine before calling it a day.
Vlad has no reason to duck Pulev...............nor any of the top ten fighters in the world...........
Will never happen. Wlad has never fought back to back to back non alphabet top 10 fighters his entire career. There is no reason to think he'll do it in the twilight of it when he can milk some more easy defenses. That said...he beats all these guys if by the improbable chance this does happen.
Wlad has cleaned out a top 10 of ring ranked opponents during his reign: Byrd, Brock, Brewster, Iggy, Thompson 2x, Chagaev, Chambers, Haye, Povetkin Meanwhile, compare how Pulev, Fury, Arreola, Wilder, Stiverne, etc....have done on that front combined lol who's ducking again?
pretty good list :good Wlad really doesn't have anything to prove at this point, might as well call it a day after unifying
Wlad has said numerous times he will obey the sanctioning bodies and fight all mandatories in due time. He has never even come close to being stripped.
Pretty solid list actually. I'd slightly change it to: Fall '14- Fury/Chisora II winner Beginning '15- WBC titlist (Stiverne, Arreola, Wilder) Summer '15- Pulev if he has remained unbeaten and impressive Late '15- final big money rematch with the most impressive and/or willing of Haye/Povetkin/above mentioned WBC titlist/Pulev
Do people count his WBO defenses when he was nothing and Lewis was champion, as these 20 defenses :huh
