It is not since Lewis started that and made plenty use of leaning over and destroying the inside game of others. At some point, both Lewis and Klitschko's pointing their left hand to set up rights would be illegal strictly according to law. A good fighter like the old Mike or Smokin Joe would weave and come up with a bomb inside but these bums can't do it...

All in all, let's just sum this argument up on a common, agreed note. It was a fine win by Vlad. Mormeck forced a position where it was completely reasonable of Vlad to clinch. I think all of us realize us, including Jack and Peter Prince. Vlad totally neutralized Mormeck's strategy, then blasted him to shreds with right hands. Nicely done.

In the end, everyone participating in this thread agrees with this.

It wasn't so much the excessive clinching that made Wlad look bad.
It was the leaning and holding on his neck.

You got an old talentless powerless mismatched cruiserweight in front of you, you are almost twice his size, you've got twice the speed/stamina/experience....and you resort to leaning on the guy untill he falls down???

That's just weak. Vitali should've slapped Wlad for fighting like that. The fight really felt like a disgrace. I doubt Manny Steward was happy with that display.

:lol::lol: Manny is the one who taught Vlad to do that. I think it's great, too, because Mormeck has been one of the biggest cheaters and beneficiaries of hometown refereeing in recent history.

Mormeck must have **** his pants when he realized that, for once, there would be no referee to protect him.

    A byproduct of it.

And yes, Ali held Frazier no fewer than 150 times in their second fight having absorbed around 25 left hooks to the head in FOTC.

Haye did not have a 40lb weight advantage or 9" height difference over Mormeck either..........

if "holding or clinching" is considered cheating, then on the CHEATING SCALE between 1 to 10 (10 being the worst )
    clinching is a "1"

pulling pads out of your gloves would be a "10"

its against the law to throw a cigarette out your car window. its also against the law to shoot someone in the head. lets put holding in perspective as it has played out over the years. i suggest you rewatch bonecrusher vs tyson again and see what holding truly is....

the bottom line is if there was anyone worth a **** out there, his holding would be a non factor...

The holding and leaning was excessive and unneccessary. Did it make a difference on the outcome? No.

The fight was a total mismatch but Wlad wasn't holding, it was Morcmeck who was cuddling himself against Wlad's torso whithout throwing any punches. I my book holding/clinching = preventing an opponent from punching. Wasn't the case here.

I would have said that Jack has made a complete arse of himself but it happened long time ago, so nothing new on this front.

I agree. Thats why it's so frustrating. Had Wlad fought aggressively, he could have stopped Mormeck in one round and helped boxing by putting on a performance that a dominant heavyweight should out on. That type of performance hurts the sport.
