He had great speed and unbelievable snap to it though...and he would leave it out to prevent himself from getting hit with right hands.
Holmes as Wlad are #1 and #2 for HW jabs. Wlad's jab is mighty impressive.. he controlled that fight with the jab.. and did damage.. and busted up Brewsters face with it..
ill show u let me searche on youtube, liston a good power behind it considering he wasnt realy big, just check how lamons face is busted upp and how his head goes back when hes hit, it takes a strong jab to do that beleive me and wlad as the most powerful one I have ever seen
Holmes jab wasnt quite as powerful, but it was a good bit faster. Wlad paws with his jab a lot, Holmes always snapped it. Wlads jab is very good but not the best of all time.
Are you people ****ing stupid? Ali's was great? Yes. However, was it an all round package? No. I lacked power. Holmes had a fanastic, dominating jab, but it wasn't an offensive weapon, it was to keep people away. Louis's was great, but because he was so good as an all round puncher, he didn't use it to dominate anywhere near as much as Klitschko does. The only heavyweight I think has a better ALL ROUND jab, is Sonny Liston. Fast, powerful and is used to dominate offence and help defence. Is Klitschko's the fastest? No. The most powerful? No. The most accurate? No. But you would be very hard pressed to find anyone who has a better all round jab. Lewis didn't, Ali certainly didn't, Louis didn't, Holmes didn't and so on.
your not getting the point, look at his last few fights, he dominates opponent with it, jeez I didnt say he was better then those guys I said he had a better jab.
The fact that Wlad's jab is in the same league as those guys is pretty damn impressive, regardless of who you'd rank first. In that elite group of Holmes, Liston, and Wlad, there's really not a wrong answer- just what kind of dominating jab you'd prefer. Edit: I'd rank it Wlad, Liston, Holmes, but I wouldn't have a problem with someone who ranked them differently.
OK I give you for Liston they proly on same ground but for the rest I think its clear that its better. and maybe Holmes but still man, he has a hell ofa jab
I think Lewis' jab was more powerful but he could not find the same kind of angles Klitschko does with his jab. Besides, Lewis, everybody else except for maybe Liston comes up short.
I'm just glad to see the jab getting it's respect. I'm not the biggest Teddy Atlas fan in the world but I share his frustration when a tall guy or any guy for that matter abandons the jab. A good jab is the easiest way to control and win a fight.
study some fights and then make a decision. wlad maybe in the top hw 10 jabbers... holmes foreman liston ali louis lewis witherspoon morrison tunney wladdy
It's debatable. Wlad used to fight balls out and either got the KO or was KO'd. He fights soooo much better now. It may be boring but it serves him well. Who knows what would have happened if he was just throwing bombs the whole time.
