Liston's might have appeared heavier because he was fighting much smaller men. Sonny was considered a monster for his era and he was only about 210 or 215. And most of the men he fought, like Patterson, only weight around 200 pounds.
I don't think you need to be Mrs. Klitschko to compliment Wlad on his jab. I mean, there are a heck of a lot of things you can criticize him on...but the guy does have a great jab.
he has the hardest and fastest jab i have ever seen, i haven't seen holmes jab, his jab is very fast and ****ing hard. chagaev is one of the best amateur fighters ever, and a very good pro fighter, sultan ibragimov is criminally underrated here. he is a heck of a fast counter puncher with big power and great technic. they are both A- fighters, but there is one tall A fighter missing where wlad can imposse his jab
I know some would disagree, but I really think that's one of many aspects of Wlad which is ATG level. Like stated here, he has a legendary jab, it's like a right hand when he throws it. And he USES it A LOT. (unlike Taylor for example) He also has ATG power. And ATG ring IQ. His size is good. Wlad is probably one if not the most gifted boxer of today. But in his nature, while gifted in many aspects, he's a flawed fighter. His stamina is... average, his chin is weak. It's not necessarily a physical flaw, might be a mental barrier. Look at Vitali, nowhere near as muscular, but boy, Vitali could go on for 20 rounds. And Vitali can take a beating, provided his skin doesn't get cut.
You need to follow a different sport than bro, boxing isn't for you. Wlad doesn't have an ATG jab? Are you serious? In today's day & age you can simply go to YouTube.com and see many of Wlad's fights where he rules the scorecards literally single-handedly using that ATG jab. Before you ask: Yes it's better than Lennox's, but Lewis had a fine jab himself. Larry Holmes had a better jab it could be argued since he didn't have that powerful of a right hand to fall back on, but Larry's jab wasn't as powerful as Wlad's is.
This content is protected This content is protected Bloody hell he does, I never noticed before. Wlad's jab, personally I feel is not the greatest ever, but it's up there. If you have Holmes at #1 (and you're and idiot if you don't), then Wlad's jab would be below that alongside Lewis and Ali.
Wlad jab is very good. But, it's hard to say just how good Wlad's jab is when comparing it to other fighters of other eras. Wlad has not had the opportunity to test it against any solid fighters. Then you can say that perhaps there are some with better jabs, but they didn't have the luxury of being 6'7. Wlad's jab is definitely very hard. It's also pretty quick, and his timing seems good too, at least it appears so against the immobile ******s pretending to be fighters today. If I had to guess, I'd say it's somewhere in the 2nd two options of the poll. I think Larry Holmes has a lock on the "best jab of all times" slot.
What an insult to Barney Rubble! There's no way Sultan would be fast enough to keep stealing the Fruity Pebbles!
Other ATG Heavyweight jabbers would include Gene Tunney & Floyd Patterson. Also honorable mention to Andrew Golota & Riddick Bowe.
